Sad state of affairs when the bills author knows so little about his own bill. Seems silencers may get removed from the bill via amendment. Some democrat senators did seem to be concerned of the bill's constitutionality post Bruen but not enough to avoid a rubber stamp.
On to the Senate Judiciary Committee it goes.

SB171 Hearing - Start around 4hrs and scroll until SB171 comes up
The entire SB171 hearing was about 90 minutes long. Worth listening too if you have time. Interesting to see the one what I presume was a dem sheriff speak against the bill and the lax laws allowing repeat felons to plea bargain down gun crimes. There was approximatley 200 people on the Zoom, but the committee only heard from those in attendance. Tomorrow will be even more telling. |
