What: Redwolf 2 Gun Challenge

Where: Angry Emu Range

When: 03/19/2023 10AM - safety meeting/stage planning, overnight camping on Saturday night for those interested

There will be 5 stages which are generally created with input from everyone.  At a minimum a pistol, rifle, ammo, & spare mags is generally all you need.  Holsters, slings, & mag pouches are recommended though.  Ranges for pistols are generally 10-25 yards & 50-200 yards for rifles.  2-3 pistol (15rd mags) & 1-2 rifle mags (30rd mags) is usually enough to get through a stage.  Round counts have been fairly low lately.  Stages can include running, barriers, reloads, & other fun challenges we come up with as the day goes on.  Feel free to ask any questions or offer suggestions.

Participants:
MisterTwo
swolliepop
GAhunter95
billytehbob +1
YaBoyKGTho

Last place gets the pom spray moving forward.  I like it.

A big thanks to everyone that was able to make it out today and as always to @Emu for being our gracious host.  We've had bigger turn outs so far this year than ever before.  Below are the results of today.  Briggs is the winner for this month again but we do have a new top loser in Jacob who was a new shooter.

Let the record state that during the Daddy Defense Drill (The DDD) the baby went deaf and half of the competitors yeeted the baby into position.

Does no one care about the children!?!?!?!

But really, thanks again to Brian for carrying on the Redwolf 2 Guns, Emu for the range use, and everybody for showing up and leaving with no new holes.

Seeing alot of improvement across the board. Great shooting everyone.

Wishing a speedy recovery for Randy so he can get back out therein the coming months.

Generally speaking we have a mix of rifle and handgun use with some awkward positions, so.e movement, some running, reloads, etc. Each stage is usually thought up on the fly by whoever cares to help design them.

Nobody takes it too seriously, but thats not to say we aren't competitive.  Best way I can describe jt, it's like pickup basketball for gun guys.

10/10 would recommend.

Mostly steel, but we occasionally add in paper/cardboard targets.

I prefer steel just for the sole fact of it being easier to reset stages.

99% steel

Its rare that anything needs to be reset between shooters.

Spent the day in airports...

Being there would have been more fun.  Wife unit's flights were goofed up, so I listened to JRE on my phone.

Another great event.  Thanks for organizing this Mister Two!  Thanks to Emu for use of the range.

things I learned today...

para-cord makes an ok sling when needed.  I know many people offered to let me use a sling, but I failed the idiot check when packing, so I ran what I had.

batteries eventually die in red dots.  My RMR battery died before the first shot this weekend.  My G19 carry gun worked pretty good (hmmm... how old is that battery?!)

My used Acog was pre-sighted for my gun.  whew!  Close enough for today.  I'll work on that soon.

After the event I was looking downrange through a scope I wanted to check out.  I was at the left most concrete bench.  At 30x I was watching a very small area at the far left side of the range.  I did not notice someone walking down the right side of the range.  I heard someone say something about someone down range and a gun pointed down range.  I moved the gun to a neutral position at that time.  I thought the range was clear of people when I sat down.

And we have a plan with those funds after some chats at Cola Warrior so if everybody wanted to throw 20 we could get those things accomplished to have a more enjoyable range experience.
