I just heard this on the radio. I don't think it's ever gone up this much in one year before, has it?

28% for Ada.   I'm in Canyon so 30% for me.  I am calling a real estate agent tomorrow.  Might be time to move considering house value and another 1000 plus taxes per year.

I just heard the article and it doesn't say that the taxes are going up by that percentage.

Even though property tax assessments are going up by around 28 to 30% on average, that doesn't mean property tax bills will increase by that much. The city councils, county commissions and other taxing districts will determine what the bills will look like when they set their budgets.

Cities, counties, school districts and other taxing districts will set their budgets for the next year around October.

And I'd wager they'll push to raise taxes as much as they can. Organize, start calling people, and make the officials' ears hurt with phone ringing and eyes water with full inboxes.
