Pretty much everything has been covered except your healthcare question. Prescott has two hospitals, both owned by Dignity. Specialties may involve a visit to Phoenix. Dignity is currently in a dispute with Blue Cross Blue Shield, and does not consider them in network for insurance, which has caused issues for many.

Keep in mind this is not unique to Prescott region- due to the large influx of ( mostly older retiree age) people here, our heath system is a bit strained, and finding a primary and if you need it specialist can be difficult. I suggest planning before you come, especially if you have issues requiring specialized care, as we are simply NOT going to have a lot of options like big metro areas do.
I work in health care, and when I used to practice in an urgent care, I would see tons of people who moved, with no plan to obtain primary care, figuring they could call any doctors office and get in promptly when prescriptions ran out. Then when the run low on medications, start calling primaries to find there are only a few accepting new patients, and a new patient visit appointment is 4 months out. They would show up recurrently to urgent care to get RX refills and they couldn’t get into a primary.
Also lots of whining from mostly Californians ( ditch the CA plates as soon as you move- anybody from CA is considered a leftist jack ass hell bent on destroying AZ until proven otherwise) who lived in big metro areas, and were used to big medical complexes with multiple specialists and also multiple choices in specialists. In a region the size of Prescott, you may only have a single choice in some specialties and for some odd ball stuff may indeed need to travel to “ the valley “ - Phoenix.
We are definitely a gun owners paradise, one gun shop owner told me, and I have no reason to doubt him, that our county has more FFL’s than any other county in the nation. Between the “quad cities” ( Prescott, Prescott valley, chino valley and Dewey) there are at least a dozen brick and mortar gun shops.
In regards to shooting I am a member of a private club yavapai recreation league, with a great range complex south of Prescott. We host several major events every year ( state or regional uspsa or steel challenge championships) while our membership is currently closed, we allow / encourage nonmembers to shoot any of our competitions
If you end up here, welcome!
