I'm going to be downtown for a few days in March for work.  Staying very close to Point State Park.  A few questions:

Will I die?

I know Primanti's is right there but other good food & drink options in that immediate area?

My niece goes to college there and I'll be taking her out to dinner at least once.  Suggestions on a nice place for that?

I won't have much free time for sight seeing stuff but any other suggestions?

I appreciate any and all suggestions, thank you!

TAKO
Butcher and the Rye
Meat and Potatoes
Salonika's (best Gyro in town) pro tip: they are pronounced JI-Rohs here for some reason
Pittsburgh Poke for lunch
Stuff'd Pierogi Bar

That should be enough for now.

I generally avoid downtown.  I prefer the quiet of the still somewhat rural areas whereI live.  I am boring.

But go see the John Heinz History Center
It’s close to the original Primantis.   Very much worth a visit there.
Penn pilsener Brewing is not bad, for food and beers.
Lots of micro breweries elsewhere
Tessaro’s in the Bloomfield section known for excellent hamburgers and steaks.
Deluca’s diner in the strip for breakfasts .  Also Pamelas Diner almost next door. These are only open in the morning

For a laugh, if you are in Pittsburgh this weekend, go to the Pittsburgh Piratesfest at PNC park.
See how they plan to capture the pennant while bob nutting has the second o west payroll in ML baseball.

If you want to experience a really good sandwich, hit up one of the Peppi's shops in the area. I recommend the Sicilian with pepper relish.

I'm going to have to break the diet big time and do a sandwich tour...

I'm headed there early next month, my list is made!
