Had an interesting conversation with someone yesterday that told me about two relatives that recently applied for and received pardons from Evers. One was for an old drug offense, the other for an armed robbery 50 years ago. He told me that it was a fairly simple process, no lawyer involved, just a matter of filling out an application and submitting it.

I know another prohibited person with a 10+ year old misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct/DV conviction that is interested in getting a pardon.

I've suggested it to several of our customers. One was denied, that had a DV-modifier from 15 years ago. He met all the other criteria, but I guess that was a no-go.

NICS/LEEP and the WIDOJ "further review" anyone that even has a dismissed DV charge now, so I'm not completely surprised.

Does anyone have a link to the process?

I am truly asking for a friend.

Research indicates that pardons are only considered for felony convictions. No mention of misdemeanor convictions that carry felony restrictions. Appears to be legal black hole.
