How do you become a member if you don't have a "sponsor"?

So will an "associate" NRA membership work?

Don’t over think it. It says NRA membership that’s it.

I was a member for one year. I know a lot of guys here speak highly of them but I didn’t renew. I caught a small piece of shrapnel in the arm one day from an asshole who decided to shoot the 25m steel targets with 556. I packed my stuff up and never came back. Outside of that, some of the senior members were overly pretentious at the meetings and I felt like it was their club, I was just a guest despite also being a member. That and the bench ranges with very long intervals to go cold. This was 2016, maybe I got in a bad year.
