DO NOT think that the recent great show of RKBA supporters at State House means anything long-lasting. What this recent event will do is energize the Anti-gunners. Count on it. The loser always learns more than the winner, and so we Pro-RKBA, Civil Rights activists must be on guard against becoming complacent.
At the next State house go-round, we can expect the Antis to be more numerous and more confrontational.
We did well during this last event in that Cap Police did not report any "events". Let's keep it that way, as the Press will certainly be willing to make us look bad, and they will use any opportunity to do so.
At this point, we need to be emailing. A LOT.
There is a certain way to do so that makes it easy for your State Legislator to understand--and remember-- what you are saying. It's easy. And smart.
With me so far?
Find out what Bills are in House/Senate Judiciary committees.
Focus on a single anti-gun bill. Nail the anti-gun bill with a few good points , and leave it at that. A few good points, easily understood by your Sen/Rep are worth more than a hundred pages of blather.
Keep it short and sweet, like the dance with the elderly lady.
Do this exact process for every single anti-gun bill before the committee, one at a time. Bills before the Sen/House Committees vary day-to-day, and must all be responded-to.
One Bill a day is my goal. Why not make it your goal as well? Pretty easy when taken bit-by-bit. Save your old e-mails so you can re-issue them again and again.
I can say for a certainty that your State Sen /Rep will pay attention to you, as long as you tell them what you expect of them. Your personal communication in support of the RKBA, in a State as small as RI WILL make the difference.
I have been fighting this battle since 1994, at the first instance of an RI State AWB. Some of you have seen me at the State House, maybe not. I'm not personally important, but together, we ALL ARE. In Every Single Email you write, in every phone call made, you create fear in our enemies, and give heart to our allies. The more, the better.
Please read what I've said, and go forth and with your like-minded friends and family, and multiply your family's/friends' messages to your State Sens and Reps.
We are at a tough point, here, folks. We need all the friends we can get, and those willing to get out-front on our side. Takes some guts.
Oh, if you are able to do so, may I suggest a personal donation to your Pol's political campaign, as long as they are at least on the fence? Money is King in politics; No sense in donating to Anti-Gunners, but Pols on the fence are ripe for a little 'persuasion". You can donate even if you are not their constituent. There are some "A" rated Legislators at the State House, and no doubt all of them would appreciate your contribution. Make sure to mention your donating to their campaign, just as you would never fail to remind them of your being one of their constituents.
OUR ANCESTORS BURNED THE GASPEE BECAUSE OF BRIT TYRANNY TOWARDS OUR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS. LET'S ALL HONOR THOSE BRAVE PATRIOTS AND REFUSE TO ALLOW THE STATE GOV'T TO CRUSH OUR CONSTITUTINIAL, GOD-GIVEN RIGHTS.
