Virginia Department of Education is accused of 'hijacking history' over new video urging teachers to call 9/11 killers 'extremists' not 'terrorists' to avoid Islamophobia

   The Virginia Department of Education posted a training video instructing teachers to avoid promoting American exceptionalism during 9/11 lessons
   The nearly two-hour long video was lead by American University School of Education professorial lecturer Amaarah DeCuir
   DeCuir instructed teachers on how to construct 'culturally responsive and inclusive 9/11' commemorative lesson plans
   She told teachers not to 'amplify' the extremist or their acts saying, 'You name what happened and that's it'
   Asra Nomani, of Parents Defending Education, accused the presentation of 'woke-washing the 9/11 attacks' condemning the VDOE's training
   This video comes ahead of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and at the end of America's controversial withdrawal and evacuation from Afghanistan
