Carriage ride on front street will give you a good history lesson of the downtown area. Kaffie Fredrick’s is the oldest hardware store in Louisiana and is good place to at least wonder around for a minute.  Haven’t been in it but the sports museum is supposed to be nice. Also have Fort St Jean Baptist and its museum.  Another museum by the grand encore bridge overlooking the red river. Food wise it’s hard for me to say where to go since I’ve been burnt out on everything for years.  Mamas and papa’s is good just always too noisy for my taste.  Mayeaxs steak house is expensive but good food and drinks.  Layson’s meat pies has a good breakfast along with their lunches.  Lots of other things that my mind is blank on at the moment.
