I lost an old hunting buddy recently. This week I got word his favorite hunting rifle a semi auto Remington .30-06 was pawned recently by his drug addled grandson for $70. I want to try to find it and buy it back, the old man's memory deserves better. I think it was a Model 740. It had a cheap older 3-9x40 scope and a basket weave padded leather sling on it last time a saw it. I'm going to be calling all the pawn shops I can think of in the area to try to find it. If you happen to be out and about and run across a rifle that could be it, I would be thankful for the help in locating it. Thanks.

I tried searching local pawn shops when my wife's ring was stolen.

It is nearly an insurmountable task OP.  I didn't realize how many pawn places there are.

I'd start with the shops closest to his home and work my way outwards.  I wish you luck finding it.
