In Unanimous Smith & Wesson Ruling, SCOTUS Says AR-15s Legal and In Common Use This decision bodes well for when the Court finally decides to take such a case. More immediately, two consolidated cases are scheduled to be argued before the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on June 30, which deal specifically with state bans on semi-automatic rifles. Joe LoPorto, Director of Legal Operations for New Jersey Firearms Owners Syndicate, commented that, "while not entirely central to the holding in Smith & Wesson v. Mexico, this language in a unanimous opinion by the Supreme Court could prove highly influential on the panel hearing ANJRPC and Cheeseman later this month. Well it looks like it will take these three turds a year to tell us we lost. Is there anyway we can move for a summary judgement lose faster and get to the supreme court quicker? Obama judge-no Biden judge- hell no Reagan judge- probably not. Those will be how those judges vote before one word is argued in the oral arguments. We should have all cases summary judgement. We are literally wasting so much time. |

Judge Smith was appointed by George W. Bush not Reagan. The oral arguments should be broadcast live on you tube so it'll be interesting to see what questions the judges ask. The plaintiffs and NJ all agreed to these oral arguments in order to expedite these cases. If they had asked for summary judgement and went straight to an en banc or to SCOTUS, they could've been rejected outright. Then again, I'm not an attorney and only speculating. |

This is a major development. The chief 3rd Circuit judge ordered an en banc to hear the combined AWB and Mag ban cases on October 15, 2025. Of the 13 judges, 7 have previously ruled favorably in 2A cases.

| Just making sure that everyone's expectations are set. Even if we get a good judgement in early 2026, the new leftist team put in place by vanilla Harris will appeal, and we'll have to wait for USSC to intervene. We are still a very long way from satisfaction. |
