Former Gov. Mark Dayton marries 32-year-old onetime campaign aide After “twenty years of bachelorhood” former Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton is now a married man, he posted Sunday on Facebook. Dayton married Ana Orke, who worked on his 2010 gubernatorial campaign and Hilary Clinton’s 2008 presidential primary campaign, the post said. In his post, which read like a letter addressed to family and friends, Dayton said he was “delighted” to share happy news during these “challenging times.” “Well-wishers, with whom I share my news, often ask me, ‘Who is the lucky lady?'” he wrote. “But that is the wrong question, for it is I who am the lucky man.” Dayton described her as “smart, compassionate, tough, funny, and impossibly good at Scrabble!” He also noted that she is 41 years younger than he is. https://www.twincities.com/2020/12/06/former-gov-mark-dayton-marries-32-year-old-onetime-campaign-aid/ Congratulations for the guy if he's happy, but am I the only one who thinks there has got to be something weird about a woman who would marry a guy that many years older? My wife had a cousin who always dated older men and she was odd to say the least.

Well, he’s the heir to the Dayton fortune, and she’s likely to only have to have to put up with his mumbling dumbassery for 10 years or so. She'll be an extremely wealthy young widow.

Perhaps the Dayton Family Trust owns stock in Pfizer and he will be increased demand of some of their product line?

A 41 year age gap is a lot, but honestly when a woman is 30+ she's been a fully functional adult for about 10 years, so it's not like she's going into the marriage blind. I think it's more likely Dayton is being taken advantage of than vice versa

I guess I just naturally assumed that Mark Dayton must have swooped down and dazzled this poor, helpless young girl with his smooth-talking and rugged good looks. Let's face it, most ladies have no defense against weapons like that. So you’re suggesting that she may have known that he has some money, and actually might be taking advantage of him somehow? I’m going to have to give that some more thought, because I have to admit that it sounds a little far-fetched. |
