CT beaches suck balls. They are all on the north shore of the Long Island Sound, not direct ocean until you get way east to the Rhode Island border, and they are rocky as fuck. You don't get real white sandy beaches until Newport, RI.
Same reason that the north shore of Long Island beaches don't compare to the south shore beaches.
South shore beaches are world class. Wide, white sandy beaches, can walk for miles.
Next real beaches are southern NJ, but NJ sucks for it's own reasons.
I have a soft spot for the Jersey shore since I spent so much time there as a kid, but, meh.
You want to get awesome beaches, great areas, look into Delaware, in the Rehoboth area, plenty of full house rentals directly on the beach, or south of there. Ocean City, MD is fun in a cheesy way, tons of shit to do, boardwalk, etc.
