ListSenate Judiciary Committee VotePrimaries are coming up in RI on Sept 13--and in essentially One-Party State like RI- the Primary is often the "real" Election. Suggest you go to town/city hall and make certain you registered as an "Unaffiliated voter", so you can vote in either Repub OR Dem Primary. "Independent" voter registration is NOT the same thing as Unaffiliated, so check to be certain. Suggest considering selected Primary carefully; either to support some candidates, or to oppose others.
" Rhode Island state law provides for semi-closed primaries, meaning that a voter generally must be registered as a party member in order to participate in that party's primary. A previously unaffiliated voter can participate in the primary of his or her choice. In Rhode Island, the winner of a primary election is the candidate who receives the greatest number of votes, even if he or she does not win an outright majority of votes cast." Elections in November.
Suggest you support Legislators who voted FOR our Constitutional Rights, perhaps donating money and or personal support even if not your personal Legislator(s).
Money talks as much as your vote.
The rest is up to you.
