Sorry, just now seeing this. Supposedly the gumbo at Seafood Palace in Lake Charles is the best, but I have not yet tried it. Pat's of Henderson has it, and I think when we went last year for Mom's retirement supper my brother got it. Pat's is great its just kinda fancy and expensive for a guy like me. Tad's on Ryan probably has gumbo too, but I've not had it. Gumbo is one of those things most people over here make at home, not really something we get at a restaurant.
Darrell's is worth hitting up. Just po'boys, but its one of the best. Highly recommend the Special, the Surf and Turf, or my personal favorite, the Brisket. With a cold Shiner Bock. May or may not be open tomorrow.
Had I seen this earlier, you could've hit Southern Spice, they have great breakfast and lunch. I don't think they'll be open tomorrow though.
Crying Eagle is a brewery on McNeese Street, they have a little bistro that makes some good food. I enjoy a few of their beers, just not into the IPAs and sours they make.
Hope that helps.
