So I’m wanting to take my son kayak fishing for some redfish. I was hoping maybe somebody could give me some tips on where to go in the Freeport or Galveston areas to do such a thing. Any info is appreciated…

Well I don’t go kayak fishing but I have a lot of friends that do and they go to Matagorda

X-Mass or Drum bay are easily accessed.   And, you don't have to cross/travel down the ICW.   Both are reasonably shallow, so limited boat traffic.  

Same with most of the N shore of Galveston Island.  

Or, launch at a place like Tiki/Fat Boys and hit Jones.
