MISSOULA, Mont.   It's time to remind tourists that Yellowstone National Park requires them to stay at least 25 yards away from bison and elk, and 100 yards away from bears and wolves.

Heidi Irby is an emergency room nurse, and feared she'd have to use her skills on Wednesday, when two men went up to and reached out as if to touch bison, and were posing for pictures. Heidi took this video. You can watch it on our Facebook page.

Park rangers warn that even if an animal looks calm, they are unpredictable, especially if they suddenly feel threatened. You are to stay on boardwalks and keep your distance.

It's a shame no lessons were learned that day.

I would have been the guy in the background on the video yelling "Pet the big fluffy cow!  Do EEET!  Pet it! Pet it!".  

There needs to be several people there as judges. Score each encounter for distance, height, and hangtime.
