I'd like to take a moment to thank the Solon Sportsmans Club ( no longer actually in Solon ), and the Ashtabula County Wildlife Conservation League, for sponsoring this years youth Pheasant hunt. What a fantastic experience for kids. My Grandson participated and the volunteers were great. He got a bird and is thrilled that he got to go hunting with his peers rather than with us grumpy old men for once.

Took a couple teens out for the youth pheasant season last weekend, managed a quick 4 bird limit in less than 2 hours.

Both had never shot before so i had the honor of introducing them to shotguns and treated them to some precision ar shooting after the hunt as a reward for being safe. I'm always amazed at how much of a sponge kids are... Neither had ever touched a rifle but i had them hitting golf balls at 200 in no time.
