It is painfully obvious that NYC will torpedoe any attempt of the New York population to elect reasonable people into leadership positions in the State of New York. They dominate the Assembly, they (with the help of idiots) dominate the Senate. They keep passing crazy left-wing communist laws that we suffer with. Can anything be done to take NYS back from this insanity? Here's my idea:
Republican County Executives should form an organization of Red Counties, and choose its own leader. Then they should announce a Red County Assembly and Senate, which the people of the Counties would elect representatives to. Have elections and seat a parallel Legislation. Perhaps even adopt a parallel Constitution. Any law passed by NYS would be voted upon by the new Legislation and decided whether to ratify it or not. Those laws not ratified by the Red County Legislation and not signed by the Red County Governor would not be followed or enforced throughout the Treaty territories. At the same time, the Red County Legislation would create its own laws valid for the Treaty territories, enforced by the Sheriffs. In short, a complete parallel government institutions have to be created which would make NYS Governor and Legistalion irrelevant. This is the only way to preserve sanity in this State. |

It must run its course and this state needs to hit complete and total collapse……rock bottom
Then the State needs to be divided into smaller states or NY city becomes a district like DC |

All we need is for Upstate to follow the US and NYS constitution.
Law Enforcement stops enforcing unconstitutional laws such as Unsafe. County prosecutors issue warrants for downstate politicians, judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement that violate the constitution. They show up in upstate, they are arrested and prosecuted. Counties stop taking NYC garbage, and stop supplying water. Counties put up tolls for traffic and resources in and outbound to NYC. Stop feeding the beast This of course will never happen because they’re all Swamp. |

But, as I said, it can be done de facto by having a completely parallel governor, legislation, and laws. BTW, this is what the Irish did in 1916 - 1922. Disregarded the official British administration, elected their own unofficial government, stopped sending taxes to the British, ran their own courts. Eventually Ireland was split up. |

NYS is lost. It will never change in our lifetime. Only option is to move. The NYC cancer is moving North to places like Dutchess. If the real estate market stays strong my wife and kids are selling our home and fleeing to SC in 1.5 years.

In July 2008, the Legislature passed SB 1627, which created the North Carolina Certified Retirement Community program, to be administered by the North Carolina Department of Commerce. In July 2018, revisions were made by the General Assembly to enhance and continue the program in order to reach the program's goals of promoting North Carolina as a preferred retirement destination and encouraging the mature market to travel to our great state. |

Quoted: I honestly ask do we really want NYS back? I think of it like you had a really nice car that you took care of impeccably. A friend "borrows" it and trashes it. At that point do you really want it back? It would be almost impossible to get it back to the way it was before and it would take a lot of money and grief to even get close. The New York FSA would fight you tooth and nail. Even if you split upstate from downstate, you still have voters in Buffalo, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, Utica and Binghamton to contend with. They are not going to give up their free stuff and they will overwhelmingly outvote the rural areas. View Quote I who would strongly disagree with this. Down State has 2/3 the population of the state. The population of the cities you mentioned is about 1 million. You still have 5 million more outside those areas. 5 to 1 advantage is much better. |
