Text of bill
Because this is an “emergency” public safety issue PLUS contains a budgetary component with the buy-back, Most of the rules and cut offs do not apply. Track Status Comment on this bill |

Fucking scumbags. You just KNOW this was already drafted up in the (highly likely) event that the other bills died.
I will be writing to Rep. Young to thank him for his amendment work on the previous bill...and request he put the same rigor into this one. I strongly encourage all of you to do the same. |

Just sent this, I’m in Kilduff’s district so it will fall on deaf ears
This is another scummy, underhanded way for the DNC to try and ram unnecessary bills down the throats of WA. A mag ban absolutely will not solve or prevent any crime. It will create criminals out of those of us who have no intention of committing crimes but also refuse to live under boot. Rather than keep pressing this infringement on our rights why don’t you all focus on reducing our taxes and figuring out why your budget is so trashed that we see a 20% increase in our real estate tax. |

What the fuck?? These assholes just don't quit. REALLY getting tired of this.

This is an ineffective & meaningless bill that does not address the causality of the crimes involving firearms use, which is well understood to overwhelmingly involve handguns, & this bill (among others) simply criminalizes legal gun owners who do not, & never will, present a problem/threat to their fellow citizens. I am truly weary of the government in Olympia setting its sights on me, even while I have never been so much as even a blip on the crime radar. It is very unsettling to know that the criminal element, which receives the lion's share of attention from this legislature, sets the legal standard while, ironically, the responsible element shoulders the lion's share of the consequential legal & fiscal burden for the conduct of the former. This current attempt to contextually frame these bills as "emergency public safety issues" is contraindicated by statistical evidence, & thus, disengenuous. Thanks for your time. Again. |

Looks like it is set as a finance bill due to the buy back program, so that it’s harder to overturn.

Not every Dem is in a strong blue district. THESE are the ones that we need to pressure the most.
District 5 - State Rep Pos. 1, Bill Ramos, 51.51% District 5 - State Rep Pos. 2, Lisa Callan, 52.25% District 10 - State Rep Pos. 2, Dave Paul, 50.47% District 26 - State Senator, Emily Randall, 50.07% District 28 - State Rep Pos. 1, Mari Leavitt, 52.8% District 42 - State Rep Pos. 2, Sharon Shewmake, 50.68% District 44 - State Rep Pos. 2, Jared M. Mead, 52.23% District 47 - State Senator, Mona Das, 50.88% State Senators are on a four-year cycle. State Reps are two year. All reps will be up for re-election in 2020! If you live in these districts, please be sure you are in heavy contact with the above reps and let them know that supporting any anti-gun legislation could cost them their jobs! AND GET YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO CONTACT AS WELL!! (eta: list of vulnerables) |

Is using the Washington legislature comment form good enough or is there another link I should use?

Here is what I sent to
Sen John McCoy Rep June Robinson Rep Mike Sells My name is Edwin Sanchez, I'm a constituent from your district. I am 100% opposed to ghost bill HB2947. I find the use of ghost bills abhorent. Stop trying to cloak gun confiscation from your constituents in the name of safety. We have plenty of laws on the books enforce them. This bill subverts our rights granted to us by the constitution. They are not given to us by the government. You have all taken an oath to defend the constitution. If you support this I will do everything in my power to replace you in the coming election. I will gather everyone I know to help campaign against you. If any harm comes to my family because of the passage of this bill. I will hold you all personally responsible and will seek legal action against you. Even if it means taking it to the supreme court. I am an Air Force veteran and I took my oath to defend the constitution of this great nation seriously. |

Billig to voice your concerns and opinions from the 3rd district through the Washington State e-mail system. This contacts them directly and not a blanket e-mail through a third party, ie, NRA, CKRBA. From what I can tell, these are the only three Democrats west of the Cascades. Since this is a house bill and Billig is a Senator, focusing efforts on Ormsby and Riccelli is more important but definitely let Billig hear your voice too. Edit, I screwed them up. I am not a genius. |

I don’t want to lose any “friends” here, but I do work for a gov’t agency and I do know that “nothing is ever truly deleted”. So, in theory, your emails, regardless of whether they arrive via the ledge website or your own personal address is “forever stored” somewhere. Basically, all emails in state gov’t run through WaTech servers. |

Just fucking heard about this
Will continue emailing and start calling! |

Contacted.
What a joke this situation is. I can't imagine being able to look myself in the mirror after doing something like this. Makes me think of the kid who flips the game board over when they are losing. SHAMEFUL!!! |

What's the timeline on this? When do they have to bring it to a vote or wait another year?
Good work putting out the names of the vulnerable D's. |

Thanks for the heads up. Both my reps are on board so what else can I do besides spread the word to family and friends?

Let them hear me via NRA link, direct e-mail, and legislative comment link. Also posted to Facebook. This is a mockery of our system, and they would be screaming if the shoe was on the other foot. Let's keep on them...

This bill includes a mandatory buyback of all mags +15rd and repeals a tax on bullion to fund it.
The bill we just got them to shelf had NO buyback requirement in it. So not only is this bill worse (especially for metal/coin resellers) but the way they are sliding it past the Feb 19 deadline is beyond crooked. The legislature is ignoring their own rules. |

I didn't see anything in that bill eluding to a mandatory buyback. It says that a person can only get compensation for "5 high capacity magazines"
|

Looked back through it and you guys are correct, it is not MANDATORY
|

Lol, most of us passed owning just 5 standard capacity mags a while ago.

Hit. AGAIN. Believable, but f-ing disgusting.
The NRA says this about the new bill: "Additionally, the title of the bill has been changed in an effort to limit amendments on the floor. " How does a title change make it harder to post amendments? Rob |

hit again on multiple fronts. will do again tomorrow and the next day and the day after that...
