Galleria gun policy

My understanding of the gun law changes in Alabama from several years ago were that they only allowed businesses to prohibit carry if the entrances and exits were continously guarded or monitored to prevent unrestricted access.

Is my understanding of those laws incorrect?

The only policy you need to know about The Galleria (if it's the one I'm thinking of), is don't go.

That place has turned into a shit hole. I haven't been there in years; since well before the shooting that took place, there. And I have no plans to ever do so, again.

Today was the first time I've been there in several years and after being escorted to the parking lot like some kind of criminal it'll likely be the last.

I will say I'm impressed that their "gun detecting dog" found me. But I also had been there around an hour before he found me, and if I had ill intentions they would've been carried out well before then.

Also I find it amusing that the owners of the Galleria are relying on unarmed security to keep their obviously unarmed customers safe.

I didn't think about it until later, but I should've asked how they planned to protect my family if some nut job came in shooting.

Yeah, how the hell are they supposed to do anything against an armed person with ill intentions? Do they call the police and just wait? Like idiots? Meanwhile a shooter can do VERY MUCH damage in that time.

To me, it seems that a good person with a gun could take care of the issue a lot quicker than waiting on the cops. I don't care if the cops are consistently patrolling the area and the station is almost literally across the street.

But damn! They escorted you out of the building?

Ditto this. Last time i went to the Galleria was the year it opened. Almost got into an altercation before even setting foot in the entry. (A jackass in the parking area)

Of course, I've had no use for malls since i was a young buck and following my hormones.
