I saw a thread recently, where someone posted a firecracker gun that his dad/grandpa had built. I had it subscribed, but it dropped to archives.
I wanted to do something similar, so I started thinking about what would work, that I could actually do.
I ordered a pipe and some fittings from Lowes;
Next I had to figure out how to make a receiver. I thought about hacking on a 2x2 or 2x4, then remembered my skill level, so after more thought I figured that old/cut/damaged AR lower would work. I started checking around, and bought a demilled M16 lower off the EE.
The pipe would work, but there was a gap underneath that needed to be filled. I had gotten some of those floor mats from Harbor Freight, and made some kneeling pads by attaching strips to plywood, so I cut a bit off of one of them.
Two zip ties, and it's assembled.
I drilled a hole in the end cap (you can see it in one of the pics), for the wick to go through. I haven't tried it yet, because I'm still trying to figure out what to use as a projectile. So far I'm thinking of something like acorns or small carrots. I can't go crawling around the yard to pick up marbles.
