I drove from Farmington to south of Albuquerque and back on Thursday. It’s about a 400 mile round trip. I saw around 8 different vehicles pulled over on that drive. Sometimes I’ll make that same trip and not see a single one pulled over. In my experience, some state troopers will pull you over for 6+. In certain municipalities, you’ll get pulled over for 3+. You will see a lot of state troopers on the state highways and interstates.  So, to answer your question, I don’t recommend speeding in NM because you never know.

Keep in mind that we had a rough winter and our roads are trashed. I-40 in particular has some major potholes and they are doing a lot of damage to vehicles. I don’t even think some of our roads are safe for the speed limits posted.
