It's become an expensive hobby but scanning police traffic is eye-opening. It's amazing the amount of BS they have to roll on. Unfortunately, more and more agencies are going encrypted and there is no way to listen. With cell phones and in-car terminals there really isn't that much personal info broadcast over the air.

A tip made to Colleyville police about squatters in a home has led to the arrest of an adult on a felony charge.

The Colleyville Police Department received a tip about squatters residing in a house located on Bridlewood Court. Police said the information helped them link the adult and some of their associates to several crimes in the area, including car burglaries and credit card abuse.

On Friday, Jan. 5., Colleyville police said they went to the home to execute an arrest and search warrant, where they found the adult and several children "squatting."

The adult, whose name has not been released, was arrested and charged with felony credit card or debit card abuse.

They said the home was a rental, and the owner had to be involved in the eviction process.

Police said Tarrant County constables served an official eviction notice, and the inhabitants have 30 days to leave.

I think this is at 4100 Bridlewood Ct.  The second section I quoted makes me think that the place was legitimatly rented but then the renters stopped paying.

Not able to find other info on this.

Finally got more:

"At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, officers were dispatched to the parking garage of the Jefferson Silverlake Apartments located at 1775 N. SH-26. A witness reported seeing a man trying to get into multiple unattended vehicles.
As officers confronted the suspect, the man got back into his car, while trying to flee, and crashed into an occupied, marked patrol vehicle, a parked car, then drove directly towards two officers. Fearing for their lives, one officer fired their weapon to stop the threat. The suspect vehicle then crashed into a transformer, which caught fire.
The suspect ran away from the car, and officers immediately chased after him towards Bass Pro Court. The man was caught at Cowboys Golf Course approximately 15 minutes later. He was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, then transported to jail.
23-year-old Keyvionte Henderson of Dallas now faces charges for: aggravated assault against a public servant, evading arrest/detention, evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, duty on striking unattended vehicle, and accident involving damage to a vehicle.
The officer who fired their duty weapon was not injured and is on standard administrative leave, with pay, pending the outcome of a full investigation. The Texas Rangers have been called to investigate the case."

Yeah...  those apartment complexes right there are full of hoodrats.  There have been multiple be pretty big gang fights and the area is generally bad news.  Garland PD roll through all the time.  In general, most of the apartment complexes on the north side of I-30 in that area are pretty fucking sketchy.

The 7/11 across the street is not a station I'll stop at anymore.  I have been harassed more than once by the "vibrant youth" of the neighborhood.  You know, the ones driving ratchets, playing music so loud it hurts your chest and with their pants below their asses.

If I hadn't been packing, I'd have probably taken a beat down the last time I was there (middle of 2023).  They scattered when they figured out what, "don't fuck with old white guys" meant.  And now I buy gas on the other side of the interstate.  The QT there doesn't put up with the punks' bullshit.

Just before 10:30 p.m., Arlington Police officers were called to a shopping center in the 800 block of E. Lamar Blvd. where a man with a gunshot wound was asking employees for help.

The 29-year-old victim told police he walked to the shopping center after the shooting happened in the 2100 clock of N. Collins Street.

He said he was at a recording studio on N. Collins Street producing music when two masked men entered and began shooting. The victim told police he was also armed, returned fire, and may have struck the two suspects.

On the way, they got a hit on a stolen vehicle seen leaving the same location on N. Collins Street. Believing it may be connected to the shooting, officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver did not stop.

Officers briefly pursued until the driver came to a stop in the 1500 block of NE Green Oaks Blvd. Officers found the driver, 30-year-old Kinton Jones, and passenger, 52-year-old George Duncan inside the vehicle. Both had been shot.

Guns and a face mask were found in the vehicle and APD said investigators believe Jones and Duncan are the suspects from the shooting at the N. Collins St location.

Jones and Duncon were also taken to a hospital. According to the report, Jones' wounds do not appear to be life-threatening. Duncan is currently in the ICU.

The 56-year-old was brutally attacked outside Pho Son Nam Vietnamese Restaurant in Arlington on December 29.

Police eventually arrested 35-year-old Fernando Taylor in Houston on Jan. 26.

He's been charged with one count of capital murder.

Arlington Police say that Taylor traveled from Houston on the day of the killing and followed Tieu for an hour before attempting to rob her.

Dang, would like to know the speed.  My roadway designer friends say the Jersey barrier is supposed to keep you on the stucture.
Could have been bad in more ways if it had screwed up the rail lines underneath, or flew into the Corgan building or something like that.

At least no bystanders hit/killed like some pursuit crashes, that's what I was worried about when I saw the headline.

CLEAR Alert issued for kidnapped woman from DeSoto

https://www.fox4news.com/news/lacey-lyn-overby-missing-person-kidnapping-clear-alert

Police are looking for 37-year-old Lacey Lyn Overby who was last seen Thursday around 3:30 p.m. near the 1300 block of E. Parkerville Rd. in DeSoto.

Investigators did not release much information on the circumstances of the kidnapping, but they say Overby was at a Taco Casa in Lancaster buying a meal for a homeless man.

Police now consider that homeless man the main suspect. He was described as a bald Hispanic man between the ages of 25-35. He was last seen wearing a blue and white plaid shirt.

Overby was last seen in her 2015 silver Chevy Malibu with Texas license plate #KDY7339.  Police say her car has a large dent on the rear left quarter panel and has a bulldog sticker on the rear window. She had her hair in a ponytail and was wearing black scrubs.

Overby is believed to be in grave danger. Anyone with info is urged to call 911.

Yeah they did something extra stupid to end up like that.  Any guesses out there on why they ran?

Driving around in a stolen vehicle I’m pretty confident they weren’t out collecting for the Red Cross.
