Sounds good, but it's NYS so there's got to be a gotcha or something to fuck up an otherwise simple thing.

The state budget has a huge hole in it. It is likely because they're looking for money.

The archery mafia is going to have a meltdown of epic proportions that they will have to share their historically special early season with the unwashed mass of crossbow hunters, lol.

Just to be clear I do bowhunt and have no problem sharing with crossbow hunters.

Now I'll have to find my last license with a bow stamp or my certificate to use my crossbow. I had to stop bow hunting in 2002 due to hand surgery and was so happy when crossbows were first allowed.

Dec has a record. I took a bow class in the 80s and got a bow permit maybe ten years ago.

TFA states a new class will be needed for crossbow and the old method of printing that out and signing it will no longer be valid. Il Duce needs the money

I wonder whether they will let people with old bow certificates use crossbows without a new class? That was my impression from the articles.

So I used a crossbow this year legally. But next year have to take a class or I would be illegal.

Sounds about right for NY.

I would think grandfathering would happen but who knows.

I think I was legal then not legal to drink three times as the drinking age went up

NY does everything for a money grab. Remember trying to make us all buy new license plates. I bet they're big goal is selling more bow licenses not making more people take the class. Do you pay the state for the class?

Same for my sister. I turned 18 in 1980 and she in 1982. She was legal for a bit and then the age started going up. I always rode the curve ahead of the restrictions but she got outlawed and then aged into legal again. We were buying an expensive bottle of champagne for my parents wedding anniversary and I had to buy with her because she was suddenly too young.

Me too. Turned 18 in Sept, they upped it to 19 in December. So I got 3 months in legally.
Not that it mattered much. No one really cared about ID at any club or bar, and if you really needed one, the non-picture paper DL's were super easy to change. A few minutes with a razor blade, you could get rid of the dot matrix printing and put any date you wanted.
Then they upped it again from 19 to 21 December 85, but by then I was already 21 for a few months.

I've got my eye on a Ravin R20, only reason I haven't gotten it was the width restrictions. 6.5" cocked.
435 FPS and 164 ft lbs. Crazy numbers, 12 pound draw.

I went out with girl who hit a street light while drunk and drove off. She then drove back by to see what damage there was to the pole

The police were standing around the green pole with yellow paint on it and saw her yellow car with green paint drive by and pulled her over. They not only charged her with DWI and leaving the scene but also she accidentally gave them her "bar license" which she had erased the numbers and changed the so she got a misdemeanor for altering her license. Ah those were the days
