I'm flying into Des Moines on the 27th and leaving on the 1st. The company address is Grimes so I'm assuming I'll be staying around there.
Any good places to eat I should check out? I'll be there doing some consulting but I'm betting they make me a job offer. |

The waterfront in clocktower square. Also the mandarin sushi bar and grill in west Des Moines. John and Nick's steak house in waukee. As far as bbq goes kue'd in waukee is probably the best I'm aware of.
There are some good places downtown Des Moines but i don't care to go there. |

Middle school and 8th grade football is important. He enjoys playing football |

Football is big in the Des Moines area big schools but competition is high for playing time. If you think he's going to be a top player for his position there is some great opportunities around the Des Moines suburb schools. If not there is a lot of other good competitive smaller school districts that he would get more opportunity for playing time as well as a good education. Let us know how the job/relocation prospect goes and any other questions you may have.

It was a good trip. No formal offer was put on the table, but they do want me to work for them. I stayed in Grimes. Growing up a country kid in Wyoming I love how spread out everything is. Lots of fishing which my son and I enjoy doing. Way more of a small town vibe that here in Atlanta. If I don't move there I will probably return to Wyoming. My days are numbered here in Atlanta. We are starting middle school football now so it will probably be around November. Not sure when school football starts there.
