Metro COB disappointed body worn video released before it had access to view

The Metro Community Oversight Board is disappointed it did not have access to body worn video before it was released to the public as Metro Police had promised.

MNCO Executive Director Jill Fitcheard and Assistant Director Chris Clausi did not have the opportunity to view the body worn video prior to its release to the public.

“I am disappointed that after being told by numerous MNPD officials that we would have an opportunity to view the body worn camera footage before its release to the general public, that did not happen,” Fitcheard said in a news release. “I hope going forward, MNPD would uphold and stay the course on the agreements that are in place related to the sharing of information that keeps us abreast and informed of how MNPD officers are responding during critical incidents.”

This stupid bitch thinks a bunch of handwringers are going to be posted with info AS a situation is developing?

As I understand it, the previous chief didn't tell them shit, period.

And yes, she checks ALL the boxes.

Our community’s inability to adequately respond to a person experiencing a mental health crisis has led to another tragic death,” said Metro Community Oversight Board Chairman Andres Martinez in a news release. “The COB calls on our city leaders to immediately expanding funding and resources to implement crisis intervention initiatives to serve as alternative methods for responding to calls involving individuals experiencing mental health crises. The status quo has proven deadly once again. As a community we must do everything we can to prevent losing another life.”

Perhaps they should have pulled the officers out and sent Ol' Andres to resolve the situation, instead of SWAT.

Metro PD has done a really good job of getting its shit together over the last decade or so, and one thing they seem to handle extremely well is public/media relations surrounding OIS.

They pretty much always have good, well-produced, thorough public info releases out in a very timely manner after an incident.

None of which is what COB wants. What they want is Metro PD to come to them on bended knee asking for permission to go get the bad man. Then the COB hags will text each other for 2-3 hours to see what should be done, in their opinion, for "diversity".

It sounds like they are wanting Metro PD to run information by them, well in advance of releasing it to the public, likely to allow them to run to the news media and have press conferences where they control what information is given to the public.

Not as many reporters willing to come to their press conference, if Metro PD has already released all the info.

Translation: We always need more money to spend on anything and everything because we like having money/control.

Claims to want "transparency and accountability", complains when body camera footage is released for public viewing?

More like, "you racists didn't give us time to craft and publicize our narrative first".

More like ugly cunts want to be able to jump up & down & scream, "Look at ME! Look at ME! *I* matter!"

Once the video is released, they have all the use of warm spit.
