OK Guys. We have had some awesome get togethers over the years. Webb, and Manatee were the main venues. As the Democrats have slowly eroded and chipped away at our rights, we seem to have just layed back and took it. I know I have been guilty of this. Waiting for someone else to do something.

So Webb is now run by semi fascist gov't thugs and Manatee was railroaded be lefty infiltrators( pardon my oversimplification of the situations).  I haven't been shooting (other than the odd Armadillo) in a couple of years. So, what are our options? Shoot Straight here in Ft Misery has always been welcoming, but indoor shooting just sucks. Any suggestions?

Okeechobee has a pretty nice range. I am not really familiar with how they would welcome a group, but I believe they rent range space. It is a bit far for most of the shooters I am familiar with. I know there is a range in Lake Wales that I could make some inquiries.  It is, um, a little rustic? But that's ok. I really don't want to take on full responsibility, but if not me, who? I mean, I have the good looks, manners and charm. Like, a fat George Clooney.

Anybody got any suggestions? The weather we be getting a bit better. What say ya'll?

The last shoot I attended was up at St. Augustine.
Not sure if that range is still available but its the only one off the top of my mind which could accept a group.

Isn't there a range in Leesburg (Lake county)?

Easy access by I-75, the Turnpike, and SR44 from I-95.

It is Ares Training Facility. Currently closed for updates. Heard they are getting complaints from neighbors.

There’s Hernando Sportsmans Club in Brooksville. Never been there but it might be an option.

Not sure if the new facility in Citrus county would work... of course that puts the event on the central west coast.

Ares would be great once they get things sorted out, but I’m up for any of the ranges mentioned.

Triple N Ranch is a relatively new Public Range in Osceola County between St. cloud and Melbourne, Looks big enough, open to the public.

The 200 yard range is nice too.  200's are hard to find outside of club ranges around me.

Did they make you  Qualify to shoot the 200 yard range?

Yes. Just had to put 5 rounds into a fairly easy target space at 100 yards and then get it signed.  That's what makes the 200 so good IMO, not many people on it.

I'm ok with irons out to 100 but prefer something illuminated for anything longer. Been using a 3.5x ACOG for the 200. Would love to be able to get decent groups with irons at that range.  My 50yo eyes aren't up to that though.

FWIW, Okeechobee Shooting Sports will rent private ranges to groups. Might need to have one of their RSOs unless someone is certified by an outside org, I think. Private ranges go up to 100 yards now. Also have shorter ones.

No need to qualify to be on the 200 yard public ranges.

They have a lot of church groups and Scout groups come out so they are used to it. They let Scouts camp sometimes.

If this ends up there, I'm in for sure.

Volusia County Gun & Hunt Club is pretty decent.  It's on US-44 (east of Orlando and I-4) so that is the other side of the state.  Monday and Wednesday are open range (non members can use all day for $15).  See the website for pictures of the range and calendar of events (which is pretty active).

I like this club but probably not built for groups. Most of the bays are pretty small. They do have one large bay but maybe only 50 yards max.
The rifle range is no where near the pistol range and not sure how many people it can hold.

That is close for me, never heard of it. But I have not been shooting for a while and
have been itching to get out.
