I'm trying to get one of these when I get back to Texas later this summer.  Google mostly says yes, but I have seen conflicting info.  These technically aren't a firearm, correct?

Yes it can ship to your house. I had an 1858 .36 and a 1863 .31 shipped to my home.  Some states or local governments prohibit shipment of muzzle loader firearms to your house. I think Michigan requires shipment through a FFL for muzzle loader firearms. Texas doesn’t.

Heck I've had an 1896 shipped straight to my door.  Antiques are GTG.

Nice pistol.  I have the same one, and it’s always fun to shoot.

A few years ago I ordered a Pietta repro of the Remington 1858 cap & ball revolver, an R&D .45 Colt conversion cylinder and a couple boxes of Black Hills .45 Colt Cowboy loads.  They not only delivered straight to my doorstep, they all came in the same shipping box.

The 1858 repro is not considered a modern firearm because it is black powder.  The conversion cylinder is not a firearm because it is just a part.  Once assembled it may be considered a modern firearm, but that isn't how it was shipped.

Yes. As long as it isn't a switch barrel type like TC Encore that also takes centerfire and/or shotgun barrels. You can get their barrels mail order, but not the frames. They are treated as regular firearms.
