Moving to Key West in 6-9 months, have current LTC in Texas, want to get Florida's CWL once a resident, which should happen soon after relocation.  From what I read, go to Monroe County Tax Collector's Office — Key West (make appointment first), fill out application, get fingerprinted there, have NRA handgun safety course certificate + fee/cash for the state.   Just checking with residents to make sure this is correct (?)  Thanks in advance!

Pretty much, but you can get it now if you want. There is no distinction between resident and non-resident, except the address.

If you get it now, all you have to do is notify Dep't of Ag of your new address. Also saves on the 'residency' bullshit.

Your address is based on your drivers license. There is no address on the CWL that was stopped years ago.

Yeah- I meant the address on your DL. Probably shoulda said that.

Anyway, all he has to do is notify Dep't of Ag his address has changed once he moves to FL.
