Hey everyone, I am thinking about building a CETME from a kit. Has anyone built one or been interested in doing one? I've been trying to find info on building one but they are not like an AK or AR where everyone and their great-great-grandparents are building them. The one posting I have found that gave a decent amount of information only went about a quarter of the way into the build then it stopped due to a theft of the kit they were building. I plan on purchasing a kit in the next couple of weeks since kits, for now, are super cheap still. I have time so I can sit on it for a few years before doing anything with it. I live in east TN area so if anyone wants to check one out also and kind of do a build party or something in the future. So far the most technical aspect of building one is the requirement of TIG/MIG welding skills but it isn't anything super technical from what I've read so far. I had planned on getting a cheap MIG and some cheap sheet metal and practicing quite a bit before trying anything on the rifle. Hope others are interested as well! the CETME is a beautiful-looking rifle and I would think well worth the time and effort to build one.
