He and I, and he must work in downtown Denver. Starts December 16th.

Where can you suggest he might live, temp or permanent.

Oh boy. Legally blind.

Thanks, but he is employed. His plan is to obtain short term in or near downtown Denver for a month, beginning about Dec. 6th. Embassy suites seems best, but, I'm not sure about that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Huh?

I meant they might know places which are better or worse for him to live, as certain areas might be better for the blind than others.

texashomeserver,

I agree with cavsct1983, the Colorado Center for the Blind might be a great contact for info on "all things blind in Denver".   My middle daughter is a mobility specialist for the blind and has been doing that job for the past 9 years, the last 6 of which have been in Austin, TX at the Texas State School for the Blind.  She just relocated to Colorado Springs and is working for the state of Colorado, doing pretty much the same thing as she did in Austin.  She may have industry contacts that can give additional info like cavsct1983 gave, so let me know if you need that additional help.  And good luck with the move.  I have 4 kids who live in Colorado - in Denver, Ft. Collins, Basalt and now Colorado Springs.  They all love it and I hope it works out well for you and your brother.

That helps. I will certainly call. Please tell your daughter in the industry TSSB is known as ' Texas State School for the Blond ". It's supposed to be a staff joke. I worked as a consultant to their deaf/blind program a million years ago.

If he can take the light rail try to find areas where you close to a station.  Easiest way to get in and out of Denver.

I will remember about light rail. Public transportation has been a problem.
The Denver Blind folks cannot help.

There's a school for the blind near Stapleton. So the area has an above average amount of blind folks. Housing costs are high.

Public transportation in Denver isnt great.

Well, he has relocated - amazing. Now, the difficulty is finding the right place to rent. In the 80202 area code. Does anyone know of anyone in the real estate sector ?
