Tester is speaking. Hope someone brings rotten tomatoes. Or, tar and feathers.

Can a regular, non-credentialed, not 'connected', individual remain armed at this event?

As far as state law reads, yes. I have no idea for sure though. Would be pretty hypocritical to disarm patrons of the group imo.

Why was Tester even invited?

You want to go? I'll buy you a ticket if you'll test my theory that they won't want regular folks to remain armed in there. Don't have to try to take a long gun in, just some form of clearly visible handgun.

My guess is they'll politely ask you to return your firearm to your vehicle or leave it in their care. Which shows me what they really want for "The future of gun ownership in Montana."

But I'd really enjoy being wrong, be a nice way to get the warm fuzzies for $75

I'm sure it is just to say, "see, we invited him and he never came." Just like all those who run for Montana house and senate seats will get a "how do you like gun owners?" questionnaire.... most of the liberals never return them.

My wife and I might go. I am fairly certain that ccw etc will be allowed. MSSA just worked real hard (only gun group that made it happen) to get permitless carry passed and signed into law. I know other groups don't allow cw in their events, however, MSSA isn't your political ass kissing organization either.

I am not affiliated with MSSA or this event so my belief is as good as yours. I would be willing to bet that if you act like a grown up and you will get to do grown up shit.

I would have liked to go to this, but I think we'll be moving during the few blocks of weekends around that date. Give my wife a chance to get sorta gussied up, she'd love that.

Unless there's a magnetometer there, they won't know.

I was at Ryan Zinkes election night party at the Whitefish Lake Lodge, armed. No one asked, no one knew.

Well shoot, guess I just expect tyrants around every corner. It's nice to be around people who for the most part choose not to be afraid of freedom. I'll just take this opportunity to say....I love Montana.

If the hog does show, he will use the appearance to his advantage to claim he is a 2A supporter.

And fudds will believe him. Not that it matters, he’s got enough ranchers convinced that he’s ‘oNe Of Us’ that the only way he doesn’t get re-elected is if he retires or gets caught, eh, in a “problematic situation” with a 9 year old girl.

I wish he’d have the decency to just croak already.
