Wurt der ferk?

87 unleaded was $2.99 along Hwy 29 in Texas by my home, "spiking" to $3.19 along I-10 in Ozona, Ft. Stockton & El Paso...

But along I-10 in AZ I'm seeing sign after sign after sign for $4.79 unleaded...

Local Conservative Talk Radio guys in Phoenix say the city is running about $5 a gallon!

Does AZ have some preposterous state gas tax or Are you only allowed to use artisanal free range fair trade dinos to daily fresh squeeze your Go Juice?

Love my visit here but kind mystified about what Y'all pay for fuel & Why so high?

Don't go any farther west if you are easily shocked by gas prices.

We have had higher than normal gas prices for years. I have heard various reasons as to why, but they all sound like a bunch of lies.

Summer blends combined with our terrible supply chain means we get hosed on gas prices here. I think they said the other day we're now equal to California on gas prices right now.

I live/work in the east valley, and all the stations around me are $4.99 a gallon for 87 unleaded.

Come on Texas!  Pump more Oil!  Refine more Gasoline! Lower those prices!  Oh yea, we have Fjb! running the country.

Of course fuel prices are higher in Arizona.  Part of Arizona gets its fuel from Texas.  It cost money to ship it.

Other parts of Arizona gets its fuel for California.  They are screwed!

Years ago when I took my first trip to Hawaii, gas there was about double what I bought on the mainland.

Hanging out on Oahu north shore this week, gas price is around $4.50 so not any difference from AZ now

I was in ca last week for work and sadly I found gas cheaper there. Could find 4.30s vs 4.90s here.

Drove back into Home Base today - beautiful green "Liberty Hill" & 87 regular unleaded was $2.88 at three different stations.

Man, I liked my mini-tour of Arizona but your gas prices are just CRAZY!!!

If this something new with the Dem Governor or ? ?

B.T.W. - Saw a great truck rear window decal of a bunch of guns arranged to spell "Fuck Katie Hobbs"

Actually it's your fault. Maybe you guys could fix your refinery for us?

https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/arizona-high-gas-prices-phoenix-tucson/

"They get their gas primarily from a refinery in El Paso," AAA national spokesperson Andrew Gross said. "That refinery is down for maintenance. So, they're having to bring in more expensive gas from other places."

Saw an article on one of the local Phoenix websites this week about the high gas prices.  Just what you said - a bunch of vague ideas but no real reason given as to why.  The government used to track down monopolistic attempts at gouging and keep the companies honest but now they are so busy gouging us themselves they don't have time to do that anymore.

Technically there is no "summer blend" and has not been one since 2005.  We use the same blend summer and winter.

it's a combination of the 10% Ethanol blend used in Metro Phoenix, and the fact that we are the largest state in the union without a refinery.

You know how you’re driving in our state?  See there’s 300k more of you at any given time.  You are part of the problem.

Solution-stay out.

A couple of weeks ago, I filled up before heading to Cali @ $4.99. When I got to Cali, the price was also $4.99. That's right, our gas price is the same as Cali. It was $4.09 at Quatzsite.

2.81 by my house this AM in TX.  Several miles from a major highway helps bet its 3.10 to 3.59 a gallon near the interstate.

Texans are always shocked by NM, then shocked worse in AZ, UT, CO.  Oklahoma usually has better prices than TX too.  Taxes are a bitch.

It’s fucked up for sure. I got a rental car to drive to my moms in so cal it’s been 5.09 in south Orange County for like 6 months always high there. Oh now she ask how much is your gas again. I’ve seen 4.30s if you look enough.

Quartzite was 3,95 yesterday as I was driving out. Girl where I got my rental car at said she was in Sedona last weekend said she paid 3.65.
