I really could use some guidance on completing the conversion from 30.06 to .308.
YouTube just isn't cutting it. |

Had one in .308 for a time. I never did a caliber swap but I will say 1919a4.com was a constant source of help. Most all the people over there were more than happy to help.

Remove the front and rear cartridge stops by removing the pawl-retaining pin.
Swap the bbl. Swap the muzzle booster while swapping bbl. Time bbl. What else? |

View Quote I've swapped out the barrel, but still need to time it. The bolt is marked '7.62', so I should be good, and I assume the extractor doesn't need to be replaced. I believe I need a new booster. Removing the cartridge stops is news to me. *Thanks for the info.* |

Sounds like some good advice has already been given.
I never converted mine even though I had a barrel to do so. At the time, I had more 30-06 ammo than I knew what to do with. Lol Good luck and have a blast with it! |

I think I still have some barrels. Are they appreciated yet lol.

I may have a 30 06 booster / flash hider if you need one. I mostly shoot 308 and 22lr through mine. I dont think I have the 06 barrel anymore.
I dont shoot it very often because its such a hassle to get everything out. We should have a beltfed range day sometime soon. |

I swapped from 8mm to .308, so I've been there on my postie.

I still need to work the kinks out. Its a subcal kit that was used for gunnery on smaller ranges. It operates just like it does with full size cartridges. Just replace the guts and use the carrridge adapters. https://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?318780-22-conversion-1919 There's a thread with some pics and stuff. Thats not mine. There's not a ton of info about the kits that I've been able to find. I kind of lucked into it. |

I'm ready for a belt fed / mortar shoot, out here at the Angry Emu Range, anytime we can get enough hardware together to make for a worthwhile showing. Just set a date and I'm 100% behind it!!!

I would love to have someone help me with my semi 1919. :) I have been having some feed issues.. Frankly my feeding issues now are more around cost.. But its a IZZY kit in 308. I have a Bren Tripod, in addition to a A6 Kit.
I also have an shrike upper 223 belt fed. These are easy to link by hand |

Well, I think I have everything set up for .308.
I used a dummy round to see if I had the headspace correct. I think the extractor works fine: Attached File |

I'm gonna be pretty tied up until this fall. Hopefully ammo prices will come down a little by then also.

I'm in the process of moving to GA, so earliest I can do is fall. Have to move my FFL/SOT and all my worldly possessions. Big move.

Fall works best for me as well, not that it has anything to do with the shoot. I'm tied up with Cola Warrior, HSR Mitty, and a metric shit ton of work until at least mid-summer.
Definitely want the guys with the fun stuff to have the chance to attend, though. We'll vote on dates in the new thread (soon) once we get a better idea of everyone's availability. |

And it won't happen this year, but in a year or two, I should have my RPGs and Gustaf operational. So, if anyone gets wind of any PG-7 7.62 subcal trainers for the RPG-7, let me know! I want to hunt white tail with an RPG.
