Took my pain meds and apparently bid on an auction...

Just got the email around 5pm, and apparently won this beast.

Anyone know someone that works on these?

It runs, and is functional, but needs some love

Were buying a 15 acre farm Friday, I guess I thought we would need one...

Yep, will need a new tire, but the spare is good, according to the inspection report.

They get moved with a fork lift, so lots have tires that are jacked up

Sorry to be "That guy" but the fact that they tell you they are moving them around with a forklift is NOT a positive sign.

8 years ago We bought one from .GOV Planet up in Texarkana from Red River that had just been completely "reserviced"...

It was cherry - but the hydraulics still need a lot of care & love.

It's not a road machine - maximum was about 35mph as I recall.

They are huge & heavy beasties, so you'll need a BIG Trailer & truck to move it.  some 1/2 ton or even 3/4 ton pick up isn't really up for it.

I've been looking for a tractor and there's this awesome thing with a front loader available?

I know it's big and heavy, 16k lbs, but I'm not scared

I will need a bigger trailer, mine is rated at 16k gross, with a 12600 payload. I'll probably get it shipped to the farm, and measure with it when I have time

I have a Kubota Mini Ex at 9k lbs, so I'm not completely new to heavier equipment.

Like I said, we are buying a small farm, THIS Friday and I was shopping for a Kubota tractor... This will be much cooler

I have always wanted one.  But I found out on that Land Rover I bought in the 80s that I just did not like working on foreign vehicles.

I would still like one of those but I would take most of that stuff of except the outriggers and I would put a 4000 pound liftmoore crane on the back for changing motors and small  poles in rough areas.

About an hour east of Dallas

All in after fees and stuff it's just under $9600

Even if it takes me 10k to get it to a reliable running state, it's 1/3 of what a similar size tractor will run...

The more I think about it, the more I'm at peace with it

The hydraulics are all Case, and nothing crazy. Most of the motor is fairly robust, and the drive line and brakes are all medium duty truck, air over hydraulic, and local Freightliner place will work on it! I called earlier today, and guy said bring it over.

Those units were running over 25 k last time i was looking at them.
That’s cheap enough you have lots of options.  You can take a lot of the stuff of and just make a go anywhere truck out of it.

Very cool.
As someone who recently purchased 20 acres I will be following your progress closely OP.

Regardless of how you bought it, this will be frustrating for you and fun for us. Where is the new acreage?

Looks like a good platform to build a tiny anti hog MLRS.

I'm glad I've never been 4 beers in when a  Gov Planet add for those things popped up

Good luck with it, a YouTube series of getting it running and then using it would be great

We had one at a company deer lease for transport. If it's as unstoppable as that thing was. With a 5 gallon bucket of water you could fuck up 5 acres to where no one else could drive. I don't think it ever got stuck.

Got my barn and stuff situated so I can get this thing inside when it gets dropped off...

Waiting for paperwork to process

It's a little sad when I think that THIS is NOT the stupidest thing I wasted money on..

Now you can impress the ladies by telling them you drive a two door Mercedes........

We had a 2 door Mercedes before... It's not all it's cracked up to be

Every time something broke, the number started with $5k and went up

When it worked it was amazing, ate highway miles at 80+ like a fat kid a CiCis, but in the end it wasn't worth it

We had those in my combat engineer unit in Desert Storm.  They made digging foxholes easy.
