Sounds like you are currently just killing time at your current position. It also sounds like you might be more happy at a new position more along your interests.
So...IMHO, check out the new positions, do their interviews to see what they say, try to find out about employee turnover if you can, don't ask the company or their HR, they commonly lie about turnover. My last employer before I retired, I was there for two years, during training a couple of my fellow trainees asked the trainers about turnover, it was quite noticeable how they avoided the question, they wouldn't say anything about turnover. There were almost 50 people in that training class, after a year there were only two of us left, almost 100% turnover in one year, pretty bad. About a year and a half in, a recently graduated trainee asked me about turnover, I told him the truth, no good deed goes unpunished, he went straight to HR to ask them, naturally they told him it was a lie and called me on the carpet to ''educate" me, so I ended up like my class trainers, if someone asks you that question, avoid answering!

Anyway...try to find out about turnover, if it isn't too bad and you get an offer, think seriously about taking it.
