This is happening, I have confirmed it. It's been posted for a week, apparently; just not so long on Facebook, which is where I ran across it in a group there.  

The four Missouri "2A sanctuary counties" county commissioners are all attending this event as well.

I'm going to try to be there.

Yes, it's definitely a go. We have the necessary permits...so be there or be square! My wife and I definitely plan on being there.

It's been in a hold pattern. If this goes well tomorrow, I'd say the Annual Rally Day would be good to go, too, just need to set a date.

Had a good turnout considering short notice. Plenty of police presence. My wife and I stayed till noon and then left for lunch then back home.
Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft spoke first with a very pro-Constitutional message...I sure like the guy for the few times I have met and listened to him.
  Before the rally started my wife went to use the rest room. She couldn't find it then some 'guy in a suit' who saw she was obviously looking for something asked if she needed any help. She said she couldn't find the ladies rest room so the 'guy in the suit said, I'll show you, and escorted her to the rest room. Little did she know that 'guy in the suit' was Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft. I had to laugh when she told me, 'there's the guy that showed me where the ladies rest room was.'
  The Top Sheriff spoke and said they had no problems with the SAPA bill except that the wording in one spot complicates them being able to charge criminals at the federal level. They said if a criminal commits a felony and is found guilty and gets a 10 year sentence in Missouri then he/she will likely do 10 months and be released. If they are charged at the federal level then that same 10 year sentence means they will actually serve the full 10 year sentence. Representative Jered Taylor who crafted the SAPA bill said he had a talk with the Top Sheriff and they are adding an amendment to the SAPA bill that will work for us all. He too was an excellent speaker.
  For my wife and me the most enthralling talk was by Mark and Patricia McCloskey. Mark told their side of the story from leading up to the mob action at their home to the attacks and threats weeks after they were charged by our most unhonorable state attorney, Kim Gardner. I didn't know this but the mob was led by U.S. Missouri Representative Cori Bush. She was using a megaphone to incite the mob. If anyone should go to jail for insurrection it should be her.
  They talked about how the police didn't show up for many of the 911 calls during the riots until many hours later. The area where they work was hit by the mob and a pharmacy around the corner from their building was broken into by the mob. The alarm went off, the police were called and the intruders decimated that shop for FIVE hours. The police showed up TEN hours later.
  Mark and Patricia also knew they were going to be attacked at their home a second time and asked for private protection from police officers who do that on the side...they all turned them down. Then they went to a well known security contracting agency but were turned down by them also because the agency was already dealing with 'Bad PR Problem' at the time and didn't need any more issues. Finally they reached out to someone in the Trump administration. Then things started happening.
  They eventually had six ex-navy seals show up to help, the police chief, a few off-duty police officers (I wonder how they got the motivation all of a sudden), an FBI surveillance plane flying over along with one FBI sniper (that they knew of anyway). That team of 'volunteers' kept the mob at bay. They certainly had an extremely harrowing time of it and by the face to face verbal threats of murder, rape and arson from the armed thugs that they received; they will forever be scarred. Quite a sad story when you hear the truth of their tragic encounter with these Anti-fa/BLM thugs. Mark couldn't stress enough how important it is to be prepared because it will be too late by the time the police arrive...IF they arrive...during these mob actions.
  Sad but true....enough for now.

Sounds like a good rally. Who is this top sheriff you speak of?

Sorry but I missed his name but I assumed he was in admin position because he was the talking with the Jered Taylor to get the language in the bill amended to suit the sheriffs' concerns.

Best I can tell just from a casual observation the sheriffs are scared to death of losing federal money if they can't do the federal law enforcement duties for them concerning gun laws.

I can only make an uninformed comment and say...that is a strong possibility. If their budget depends on federal money then it will have to be replaced by Missouri taxpayers. Which I think is a good idea...IF their needs can be met. I would just as soon see the federal purse strings cut but we would have to financially support them with tax money. I believe the MDOC does quite well with the special tax they receive. I also don't know how much federal money they receive for our jails and prisons which I'm sure is a huge chunk of money. Maybe if that would happen some of the unnecessary amenities our criminals receive (think of weights, basketball courts, etc.) might be looked at real hard. Just saying.

If Feds pull money due to this law, then it only follows that we stop housing Federal prisoners. How much would that save the state, if we only imprisoned state/local criminals?

Probably a ton of money...I don't know how quick our county jails receive the reimbursement from the Fed but hopefully it would lessen the hold time for fed prisoners taking some workload off our jailers. Of course all this is speculation and it would take a lot of digging around to see what the costs are and even if our ideas are feasible.

Another thought is if this did happen, how could we get our tax money back from the U.S. Government? We would still have the same tax base and we would be paying actually more taxes unless Missouri residents would be discounted some way. Of course it would take an act of GOD to get our tax dollars back to the citizens of Missouri.

They're scared to death of having to actually do the legwork... y'know actual police work.

Thanks for the great write up, I hadn't heard the McCloskey's side of the story or that the mob was led by a representative. Shocking right?

Thank you and yes, and I just touched on their story. There was a lot more to it. If you get an opportunity to listen to what happened AND has happened to them it will floor you. It may not seem to you all on this board but in many ways they are heroes.

As I see it the one that should have been charged in that McCloskey fiasco is U.S. Representative Corey Bush if she was the one leading the march using a bullhorn. As I understand that the McCloskey's live in a gated community and the streets and sidewalks are all private property. Makes no difference if the gate was up or down the protesters had no right to enter the premises.  

Exactly! And the McCloskey's said whenever anyone uses the catch phrase to them...'Be safe'...they say 'No...be free!'

I know my local county jail makes a lot of money housing federal prisoners.  They recently in the last couple of years expanded the jail to probably double the previous size.  Did our local crime double?  I don't think so.  If I had it in front of me the Sheriff publishes their annual budget showing what they take in and it's formidable.  Our Sheriff is very pro 2A but I know losing that federal money would put them in a bind.
