North Richland Hills was a good show.

It was held in 2 halls at the ice hockey complex.
1 hall was gun dealers, other hall was accessories. The gun side A/C was out so it got a bit toasty on that side.
The crowd waiting to get in was around the building both days and there was a line to get in pretty much all day.

Waxahachie has been cancelled for next weekend.

I'll be at Dallas Market Hall on the 20-21

Small show, plenty of fudd guns.  Handful of ARs.  I'd say it wasn't worth the drive but I have a bag full of Tapco AK mags for $10 ea.  Say half the tables are guns, other half knives, bayonets, silver coins etc.  $7 to get in, free parking.

Yeah I don't like the mask rule either but I will still show up. I work in Dallas and we are going to have to start wearing them now at work too.

From my reading of articles....

It states a business must have a mask policy and require people to wear masks when not eating.  The business can be fined $500.

The business is not required to enforce the rules against their customers and the customers will not be fined.

Premier put a notice on their Facebook page.

When I heard the new Dallas County mask rule, I thought it might cause a lot of people to skip the show. But after thinking about it, I believe more people might attend who would have been skittish about people not wearing masks, than those who are turned off and won't go.

It might be cool to walk in wearing my stage robber bandanna and a sixgun, so here's my chance. I suppose an ordinary handkerchief and a piece of duct tape would work too.

As I was leaving the show setup this evening they had changed the mandatory mask wearing to highly encouraged but not mandatory.
Don't know if it will change again.

They didn’t enforce masks.   I wouldn’t have went in if they did. After waiting in line at least an hour and a half, I got in and was greatly underwhelmed.  $800 Glock 19x’s wasn’t worth the wait.

Ours is next week (Midland) and I was thinking about checking it out since everyone's buzzing about the "sellers market".

I have 1200rds of .45 ACP I'd like to unload and usually FTF is the way to go since you don't lose your ass on shipping since it is pretty heavy.

I was scanning GB and there are still some deals out there on some stuff.  My guess is that ARs and Glocks are probably what are really overpriced right now along with 5.56 and 9mm and most other things are okay-ish.

Leftists are arming up.  Lots of pics from California when all this shit kicked off of long lines at gunstores.

There's been a few threads in GD too where more and more leftists have been spotted in gun stores.

Prepare accordingly.

I'm sure you know the answer

ARFCOM.... Home of some of the most scared white people around

I bet if it were a bunch of hispanics, someone could post about all the cartel members who were there instead of saying "people whose family could have been in Texas before Texas was Texas"

I have a few things to sell, but I'd probably try Texas gun trader or maybe an FTF from the EE to sort through the complete regards (as I remember the guy from Abilene who offered a boat propeller for a S&W 3rd gen).

If the Hispanics were buying non-military calibers........maybe.
Were the women buying the guns for some shady looking character standing around watching?  That seems to be a thing I've noticed the last couple of years at various shows.

What was the art/NASCAR items/beef jerky/sunglasses ratio to gun related stuff?

Recovering from some foot surgery, so I couldn't even go to walk around, but I am curious for anyone who did...vendors, the usual suspects you see at Mesquite/Ft Worth shows, or new blood. One thing I always liked about DACA at Market Hall, plenty of vendors that only showed up for that show, and different than the usual group...

I just met someone for a FTF deal in an Academy parking lot and I live in a city that is heavily white/hispanic and most of the people I saw in the parking lot were black.  Many of them looked like respectable folk but there were quite a few cripwalking, shirtless, wannabe gangsters as well.  That's an element I didn't really know we had where I live.

I don't have anything against dressing like a gangster of your culture.  I just happen to be from a culture where gangsters dress well.

Now, if you're an actual gangster, I can't help you.  But if your boyfriend wants to dress like a gangster in his culture, and you need to buy your 1st .380 or 9x19mm to defend yourself, no issue.  If you're a woman wanting her 1st 10x25mm Norma w/ your gangster looking man in the background, I haz some questions.

Show was stupid busy for me.
They keep the show open an extra hour yesterday and today plus they opened 1/2 hour early this morning.
I don't think I'd been to a Market Hall show since last century so I can't say if it was normal crowd or not but it was definitely a different mix of people than a standard gun show.
Looking forward to Ft Worth next weekend

RebelYell glad you did well.  The crowd was definitely not a normal gunshow crowd.  There were many more women that i do not think were there with a significant other, many more minorities, etc.  The ones i had the opportunity to speak to all had about the same answers, mainly they were afraid about all the current craziness and wanted to be able to defend themselves.

I did some good trades, wound up with an HK VP70Z, and actually found an extra mag while at the show!  I remember when these were brought to America in the early 80s, and how some people raved over them.....well, to me, it looks like a high end hi point actually....just straight blowback, although with an 18 round magazine, which when it was made was a lot!

Enough about my new toys...... i will be setting up at Longview 18 and 19 of July, and i wont be able to leave for lunch, but my sister in law runs a restaurant called The Butcher Shop which is as well known for their bakery as for their burgers and other stuff!  If you make it, i'll be somewhere against a wall with my big Baldor buffer doing knife sharpening.  Stop by and say Hi~!

With a name like "people's pistol" I think the VP70 was meant to be cheap/affordable.

Though it is a crude blowback , an 18rd 9mm polymer striker gun certainly was unusual in its time.  Aside from the capacity though these other "features" were all simply cost cutting measures.
Link Posted: 6/25/2020 1:53:41 AM EDT
[#46]
The VP70z was made from the original VP70, which had a shoulder stock and 3 round burst capability when attached to the stock.  Think of it as a westernized version of the CZ Scorpion in .32acp.  Seems to have been made for arming large numbers of people with very little training, or as the socialists would call them, useful idiots.  Just enough of a gun to cause problems, but not quite enough to actually fight real soldiers with.  Remember at that time the West Germans were afraid of the Socialist Block coming through the Fulda Gap.  The gun is simple as a rock in use, and you are right about being able to be made very cheaply for the time.

Anyway, anyone going to the Nacanowhere gunshow this weekend?  Thinking of running down there on Saturday since i don't go in until 11pm Saturday.

For what it's worth. 100 table gun show in Burnet, at the Burnet community center, June 27 - 28. Put on by Whipp Farm. $7.00 to get in.

Yeah, I don't cover Central Texas.  Might bump into my ex future FIL there, he's a good guy.

Might start you a Central Texas gunshow thread sorta like this one.

Just saw a commercial for the FTW show. Is that still a go with the newly announced restrictions?
