I had a buddy called me this morning. Two "unique" guns were stolen out of his garage last night in Billings.

International Harvester Garand : sn4615415
1917 Eddystone: sn 571823

The garand is a recent CMP service grade. The eddystone has water damage on the bottom of the butt stock along with a rusty buttplate. Please keep an eye out for both of these.

Firearms stolen in the Missoula area seem to end up in Spokane. Don't know which direction stuff stolen in Billings will go. Will keep my eyes open for that serial # around here & there's a small gunshow at the fairgrounds in Missoula starting on Friday thru the weekend.

Thanks. I told him to call pawn shops in the surrounding city's as well.

I always notice a Garand for sale. If I see any IH rifles I will check the Numbers. I regularly cruise the pawn shops and gun stores in the Missoula/Bitteroot area.

Doubt it'll head north but you never know. I'll keep an eye on the Havre pawn shops but they generally don't take "iffy" guns.

Apparently they also stole his overnight kit and they found a pill bottle of his in a hotel room in great falls.

So the guns may be in great falls

Max you might check the Gardner Auction page

Gardner Auction Service

They were advertising that they will have a Garand for auction on Monday the 24th, which is not a normal gun for the Kalispell area, in fact I have seen only 2 of them go through their service in the last 20+ years, might be worth a call to have them check the serial number.

I don't want to give out a bunch of info as it is an on going investigation. Basically a friend of a friend found them while walking his dog. Its very fishy to me so we will see what shakes out.
