This may be a dumb idea, but I have been consistently impressed with the response from members of this site to all different kinds of calamities.

I thought it might be helpful for some to know of someone close by and what kind of help they might be able to offer if needed in the aftermath of the storm. Obviously, take care of yourself and your own first. But, I am usually happy to lend a hand to someone in need, if I am able.

I'm thinking post a generalized account of your location, and what you might be able to offer to an arfcommer.

I'm assuming an IM would be the best means of initial communication.

I will go first.

Cinco Ranch area in Katy
F250, Flatbed trailer, chainsaw, all manner of recovery gear, Winch, ATV with hitch

I'm with you. Katy, close to Cinco Ranch area as well.

I've got a truck, utility trailer, 4-wheeler, UTV....to move downed trees or debris in close quarters.

I moved here 2 years ago from south Louisiana. Went through Katrina, Gustav, Rita. Been through this too many times.

I have an SUV and random tools, but no chainsaw or ATV

I do have a strong back and a weak mind. Willing to travel and bust my ass to help out if needed.

My brother and sister in law are Ft. Worth bound from Corpus today. Once this all settles and everything comes to light, I may be heading down that way and bringing supplies and helping with cleanup. I will keep tabs on this thread.

Houston Heights area.

I have a 4x4 xterra with a winch and recovery gear, also located fairly close to where the shitshow is likely to be happening so I can possibly help if someone gets stuck/stranded in the city. also part of houston area offroad recovery so if I can't get somewhere, i know where to find people who can.

Dallas here... can't travel (baby) but can host a free range day or BBQ if people are getting displaced. If it gets bad I may be able to volunteer medical care but would have to clear it with work and stuff.

I'm in, 4x4 with winch and gear, gas, water, food, everything. My mom and dad are old and live in the zone so they come first but if i can help anyone i will.

Here in League City have some chain saws ready to go and additional emergency tree crews on standby if any arfcommer needs them to clear roads or has issues with their/their families houses in Clear Lake when the storm passes.

In the Austin/Bastrop area. Not completely sure where I can help at the moment but will put in where I can. I have 2 acres but about 1 useable of land if you need a place to park a trailer or RV and can provide 120 shore power. I have a tiny amount of room for anyone that needs shelter.

ETA: Pets are also more than welcome.

I'm in Dickinson in an area with big trees, oaks and pines. Been through this before, had to clear roadways in our neighborhood so people could get in or out. Used to power being down for weeks. Got lots of tools, chainsaw, cables, 4x4 trucks.

The area I live in has never flooded but this one has me watching closely.

I will have to go to the coast and work. However we have a couch if someone needs to crash and my fiancee will care for pets if someone needs that. She said that kennel space goes quick.

North of Orange.

Ram 3500, small genny, some recovery gear (no winch), tractor (no trailer). Plenty of H2O, gas, and diesel. Strong back. Enough guns and ammo that if the refugees head this way, we can re-enact any number of your favorite last stand movies.

You guys in the Orange/Beaumont/Port Arthur area: I have two cases of Yuengling. I may need use of a chainsaw, as we have a lot of trees. Also, I need drinking buddies.

I'm on Galveston Bay. Fairly certain we'll be OK and if so I can help with food, water, can scrounge up a chainsaw, bottle of Crown, a generator and various other shit. Gas can full of juice. Tarps, zip ties....I could go on for awhile I guess.

Anyone need a "new" cat? I can donate my wife's.

EDIT- make that 3/4 bottle of crown now. Sorry 'bout that.

Pearland - 20kW generator plumbed to natural gas, ~20 gallons of gas in cans and some 2 stroke oil, enough ammo to keep Lootie away for years. Two young kids, older parents close by, both preclude any real travel. Also have an extra fridge with plenty of space, Generac FTW!!

ETA - my NASA engineer wife says this thread needs to be known by an acronym

In League City, Lifted Jeep Scrambler, 4x4 work truck, generator, 20gals of gas, several cases of water, chainsaws...in storage shed. Plenty of ammo for looters if needed. Lifted 4x4 Mule with winch. I have 2-3 5gal water cans and 2 aquatainers.

Glad I sold my Maxima. I have a Ram now that helps with high water confidence but it's just 2WD. Trying to stay put but if Harv goes back offshore and comes at Houston as a 3 or higher we will be heading North.

Im in the Hitchcock area near the 2004 hwy 6 area. Willing to help out locally. Cant go too far out. I have some tools, truck, chainsaw and etc.

Waiting for day light then going to check on people on my street and try to start clean up around here.
