I'm in on this one.
I don't live too far from The Cracker Barrel In Conyers, so finding it won't be a problem! I'm looking forward to trying some long range shooting. Just don't make fun of me, I haven't fired at anything beyond 25 yards in a very long time. I guess I'll need to build a target stand. Scott |
Ooops, I see how you do it now. Book changed it for me already. Thanks Book! |

Looks like i'll be making this one, will bring some AKs, my one lonely but loved AR and some other goodies...
P.S. You guys dont mind if i drag my dad and grandfather with me? |
I'll probably bring my SAM7, Vector classic or underfolder, my SAR3, one of my AR's, a 10/22, maybe my M1A, and either a couple of 45's or 9mm's.
Whoa, whoa, WHOA!!! These toys sound like guns!! I thought this was a team building outing. I just downloaded the lyrics to Coombaayaa, crap. Thank goodness I hadn't ordered my feather headress yet.

Drinking before noon again??? |

Well, I can tell you what I won't be bringing - my 9mm AR. I ripped it all apart last night. When I get around to it I'll be placing an EE add for a TROS barrel, 9mm upper, 9mm bolt, 9mm mag block and four converted Uzi mags. She was running in semi-auto just fine, but full-auto was having way too many problems. I'm even gonna dump the EOTech 511.
As for what I'm brining, who knows. I'm sure I'll figure something out before then. Probably bring a couple bolt-action rifles since they don't get worked out too often. I think the rule about not shooting suppressors sucks. I've got a few cans I'd love to bring out, but don't really feel like getting a ticket. |
A cardboard moving box works well for prone, 2 for standing or benching. My favorite cheapass targets are made of tomato stakes with paper plates stapled to them. Bring a hammer, the ground is HARD! I'll be there. I'll bring PolyTech AK47 underfolder AR15 ... still haven't got my new lightweight barrel installed... HELP! Kimber Pro Carry Stainless (1) .22's (remi 552, Armalite AR-7, Marlin POS) Gonna be bench shooting (new bipod!) with a side of prone. I'll also be bringing a few mags that dont fit my marliln.22. they are the hi cap plastic dealies. Anyone else doing any trading? |
NO sniffle....tear......sniffle.......crying........screaming......wailing........(and don't forget) nashing of teeth...... PS: How much for the mags? Accountant ETA: Find a factory Colt 635 upper and see if it will run! |
I'm gonna do an 11.5" Bushy upper instead. I'll send you an IM on the mags. |

Dude, didn't you make one of those? ByteTheBullet (-: |

Thanks for the advice, gilfrd. I'll make up some simple targets.
I am sure to bring: LMT/Sabre Defence mid-length carbine Colt Sporter 9mm carbine IGF-built Bulgarian AK-74 sidefolder I might bring: NIB/unfired Norinco 56 Colt Sporter Match HBAR (it hasn't been fired in over ten years) IGF-built fixed stock '74 (it's still being built up and might be here before the shoot date) Scott |

I'm a maybe for my first arfcom event.
What's this I read about suppressor's not allowed at CE? Is that a change, they used to allow them. hb |
There is now a sign posted at the CE range that says any NFA toys are prohibited. They lump silencers in with the machineguns. I just called DNR to verify this and spoke with a VERY nice, informative ranger (sorry, didn't catch his name) who explained the rule to me. He also expressed his personal opinion, which was that some of the rules (including the no silencer and no full-auto rule) was crap. So, no NFA toys (I wonder about SBRs??) at CE. |
But we can all still go with our measly ARs and still shoot and chat and stuff...and junk. Oh, and hOOters!!!

Back in the military days, we called it "male bonding" when we went to shoot or visit a watering hole. That was the wife approved terminology anyway. Whatever it's called, guns and gals mix well.
I'm not very social, but I'd like to meet some of the folks. |
Don't worry, ByteTheBullet will be very gentle. And Bradd_D's banjo playing is getting much better. I do go to the gun shows and group shoots more to just hang out with the other guys than anything. |
Well, I am gonna try to make this. Probably bring some bolt rifles and a couple of AR10s.
Y'all kept saying Saturday the 11th. Tomorrow is "Saturday the 11th".
So, I got all my stuff packed up and am ready to roll in the morning. I check in to see who the weather wimps will be. And I find I am about a month ahead of schedule. Crap, will probably go rabbit hunting instead. |
I think they are referring to Saturday, MARCH 11th. Not Feb. |
Looks like I might be able to make this, if FNG's are allowed, and I'll be bringing my buddy, also a FNG. h
Dude, you know the more the merrier! See you on the 11th. |
Ill try to make this one, think ill bring my father in law. It would be a great experience for him - :" U aint got nuthin ta worry 'bout ur dauter is safe N wif me "
I have about 10 small empty ammo cans I can bring if anyone needs them.
Two things:
1. Larry, how much are you going to be looking for on the ammo cans? I wouldn't mind getting one or two if they're available. 2. I've been shooting for nearly 20 years, but I'm not an expert by a long shot (pun intended). The AR that I'll be bringing is my very first AR which I shot for the very first time this past Sunday (pics and report to follow as soon as I get them via email). My buddy is in the same boat. We've both wanted AR's for a long time and finally decided to go for it this year. It was one of those "I'll buy one if you buy one" kind of things. :) He went flat-top, scope, free-float tube whereas I went carry handle, peep sights. The guy who got me interested in the AR was a good friend in Louisiana who shoots competition service rifle and I've seen what he can do with peep sights at 600+ yards. While I don't think I will ever be as good as he is, I want to try to get close. This is all new territory for me. This is my first rifle of this type and I'm wondering... will any of you who have experience and know-how be willing to lend me a little patience and advice? I'm a good listener and I enjoy learning. I took a DCM course years ago and got a taste of what an M1 Garand was like (that's next on my list) but this rifle is my first real chance to be able to practice and polish my shotting skill without the benefit of a scope or any other such thing. |
There are several pretty good shooters in the "GA Gang". I'm sure someone will be able to assist anyone who needs a hand or some pointers. PrisonBus is an accomplished high-power shooter.
Nothing. I am giving them away, but would prefer to divide them up. But, if no one else wants any, you can have them all. |
I've been looking for a couple of cans myself.
Last time I went to Mexico, I picked up a box of the Chokies Chocolate Chip cookies. I already ate one bux, but I stashed another on in the pantry. If I remember, I'll bring it to the shoot. I can't remember who asked me to pick them up a box. |
Okay, how's this:
2 for Nivuahc 2 for Book 2 for birdbarian 2 for crazybosnian 2 for ar-wrench That's 10. That's all. |
2 AR's
4 or 5 1911's Maybe my 10/22 And it's entirely possible I may drag a muzzle loader along so as to figure out how IT, not me missed a deer this year...TWICE |
