So we're just going to draw stuff on paper; no real guns?  Damn, that sucks.  I even had my ninja outfit dry cleaned.

Should we bring our own crayons?

Can I wear your Second Chance armor to the class since you're going to wear the ninja outfit?

Ask ByteTheBullet.  He's the crotch watcher.

Only if BookHound includes the socks he stuffs them with.

I would love to take this class if there are any openings and if the Mrs. will permit me.

MUST it be a carbine?  Any chance a 21-inch barrel FAL could count as a tactical "battle carbine?"

I really would like to take this class. Jasper is just on the other side of the mountain. Where is the range?

My problem is I don't have a pistol. Is it necessary?  I had to sell my Kember to buy my Ar-10 and haven't had the chance to replace it.  And hopefully I'll get a sling from LarryG on the 11th.

A 308 caliber  battle rifle would not be appropriate for  for this class.
We  will be doing a lot of shooting while moving and multiple shot/target drills.
You can use a pistol caliber carbine if you wish as we will be working from 50 yards and in mostly

Thanks for clearing that up Mike.

If anyone needs to borrow a carbine, let me know before the class.  And if you do borrow a rifle from me, no steel-cased or re-loaded ammo please.  If you blow it up, you bought it.

Is the switch included?

Edited due to vacillating mind.

Mike,

I really would like to take your class, if for no other reason than to observe.  But if I could borrow a riffle from someone to squeeze off a few rounds I would be very grateful.  I will  bring some good .223 ammo.  I'll also bring some .45ACP I if don't shoot them all Sat.
I've never taken a tactical training class.  But I've been around guns most of my life and even worked on range at a summer camp.  An AR-15 is a far cry from a single shot bolt action .22

Wow, Bookhound Thanks,

That's not a question you get asked everyday.  I would be happy with anything. I am trying to figure out what kind of optic system to install on my riffle.  Right now I'm leaning toward a scout riffle.  Anyway thanks alot and count me in.  I just need directions.

I hate to bail on the festivities, but I happened to be between two semis that wanted to hit each other on the 1st.  I'm not dead, but I'm definetely not able to do any classes for a while.  I will be back hopefully sooner rather than later.

Well, after going through the thread I've com up with this list.  If there are corrections, someone please let me know where I goofed.  Since the list shows more than 12 people, we really need FIRM commitments.  I listed people in the order in which I believe they committed.

I have no problem just observing this time around to let someone new have a chance.  Therefore, I took my name off the list but I WILL be there.  Mike, I'm more than happy helping you out in any way.

COLT6721A3, you expressed interest and asked questions, so I'd love to hear from you on your intentions.  Honestly, if this were like an EE transaction I'd have to say you did not yet committ.

So everyone, please respond in here again with a firm commitment.  Thanks!

Mark

Google Map from ATL to Talking Rock.

I'd really like to come as a spectator. I'd be too intimidated to actually participate. I'm going to try and convince the wife to make it a family affair. It'll be a great chance to expose the 2 year old to some shootin'. Are 2 year old spectators allowed? He has ear protection. We even have a 'toddler leash' though we've never had cause to use it.

What can be expected, for a spectator? In other words, what can I tell my wife to convince her that she'd have a good time (she already likes guns, so that's not a problem) and that a 10 hour round trip would be worth her time? Is there a decent bathroom nearby? That seems to be her biggest concern whenever I plan an outing. I don't pretend to understand it.

I am afraid the range is not a place for a 2 year old
There are no bathrooms just an outhouse
but there are a lot of antique shops in talking rock for the wife
