My ex-wife got the dykes from payroll to feed her my pay and private information, account numbers and every damn time a check came my way it was preceeded by a phonecall demanding money and threats for more legal action from my ex.  I asked nicely for it to stop, I confronted them and insisted it stop, I promised if it did not I would get serious.  In the end, I got two people transferred and demoted and caused a shit storm.

EIGHT years later, one of them is hiding in the office of a manager I had a run in with.  She sent a nasty email about my "abusive behavior" and whatever and threatens to file HR complaints.  My ass is promptly in a crack.  I had witnesses in my favor and opt for the full blown lawyer and fight.  Suddenlt, everybody shuts up and asks me to drop it and play nice.  Upon further review, she admits it is an attempt on revenge from the last thing.  Now she has moved on once again.

Wow. Its over, at least I guess it is.

After I posted the update I went out to get some coffee. Came back and her car was in the lot. The Chief LE was also sitting in my cube. Wearing jeans and a polo instead of a suit. He was also reading the issue of Small Arms Review that was on my desk! He said he'd come over to observe. We talked some about SAR and he asked some questions about my particular shooting interests, also about myself. Talked to my boss a minute or two and left. Said he's see us at 9.

So the appointed time rolled around and we'd all gathered in the conference room. 10 minutes go by and in comes the lawyer from yesterday with hagzilla in tow. She makes a little speech about how difficult its been working with us, tells everyone what a evil, gut-eating, baby-killer bastard I am and says that she's gonna "get me" for what I've done to her. That's when Chief LE stood and took charge.  4 security guys appear and physically remove her screaming, frothing at the mouth ass from the building. I mean they picked her up and carried her out and dumped her ass on the lawn!!! Didn't see that part but the guy up front told me about it. He said they tried to put her down nicely but with all the kicking they just kinda threw her over onto the grass. She got dumped again after trying to go after one of the guards. After that I guess she just sat and cried a few minutes, got in the kerry mobile and left. Legal, HR and security are packing her shit now. We've been told to not talk about this and that its done. We all move on.

When I got back to my desk I found voice mail from her. She made some rather creative suggestions about my heritage, attitude and generally made a lot of empty threats. She didn't threat to kill my dog or burn the house down so it was all idle angry words. (Besides I'm the one who sleeps with 2 nines, a .357, AR and 870 next to the bed) I forwarded the VM to legal. They said not to worry about any legal action as they will cover me if there is any. Did call the wife to let her know what's going on. The 870 is now muzzle down in the umbrella stand next to the front door. Wife said its easier to get to that way! (She scares me sometimes.)

So that's it. I'm really surprisd she was so irrational about this whole thing. In many ways I feel really bad for her. She's a very attractive woman, also intelligent and articulate. Just has a really messed up attitude some things. As in card-carrying uber-liberal. And I don't understand her dislike of me. I've always been polite to her, never even said anything off-color around her, or participated in the office gossip about her,  so I'm a bit mystified. I'm certainly not going to get therapy over the deal but jeez.

I do feel kinda bad for her but I also recognize that she has brought most of her woes down on herself with her fucked attitude.

It's one thing to hold an opinion, but another to cause your beliefs and opinions to dictate your behaviour.

Apparently the lawyer who did the investigation did. She expressed the opinion several times yesterday that I and the other manager should have been terminated for inappropriate behaviour at work, i.e., discussing building his AR at the office. Looks like everything turned out great, for you. Don't lose sleep over it. She's a dumb ass. I really don't see shooting any different than just about any other sport. Play golf every day and never see an accident, but take a driver to someones skull and you can kill them. If you are a boxer with the right equipment, no body gets hurt, pull a Tyson and people get killed/hurt. It's about responsibility and accountability. She has a right to say what she wishes.  However, if what she says creates a hostile work enviornment for others, she can be fired for it.  That's the american way.

Okay, my last words on this.

I'm glad this is over and I still have my job. Least for now. I'm am surprised that I didn't at least get a warning of some kind. Especially since the politically correct are in charge around here. We have an unreal number of incompetent managers who facilitate mediocrity. Not to mention the overt approval of some of the more deviant life styles some of the people here parade around. I mean I'd get canned in moment for talking about my sex life and preference. Why do I have to listen to swishy-boy telling me how big his lover is? I've been told that I'm intolerant when I've complained.

Dispite all the woman's issues she is/was/can be very pleasant to be around. You just have to be very, very careful not to hit one of her hot buttons. I do feel bad for her that she lost her job today. I sincerely hope the company doesn't fight her on unemployment. And I do hope that someday she'll grow up enough to realize her rose colored glasses are smudged and dirty. And until yesterday she's never done anything to me except express her opinions about how fucked up she thinks I and my beliefs are. So what, my friends do that too. Am I supposed to hate them for it? Besides, of all the scars on my body, not one was caused by words. No all in all I think we all lose on this deal. As much as I hated her politics, her expertise is going to be missed. And on the rare occasion that she actually dressed like a woman she was very easy on the eyes. Not that I ever looked.

As for my own take on this. I do think that what happened was inevitable. Sooner or later this gals mouth was gonna overload her ass. Yesterday it did. At the same time I got to hear indirectly what everyone thinks about me. Some people that I would never have expected to say much of anything, much less any nice about me, expressed some very high praise of me. And I take away the acknowledgement that my refusal to participate in office gossip or to say bad things about people I work with (don't get me started about my brother-in-law) is viewed so positively. Apparently one guy said I'm the only person he would trust to give a fair assessment of a co-worker. He said its a real shame I'm not a department head. I haven't done anything noble here. I was always taught to be respectful of others and treat them as I would like to be treated. I am the one brutally honest person in my group. But I'm also the only one who sees the shades of gray. The one thing people seem to loose sight of a lot, is that we go through life alone. I don't care how many friends and family you have. There ain't nobody else in the meat popsicle but you. No wife, no friend, nobody, its always just you. Alone with the cacophony of thoughts that are you. Its nice to get some reassurance that your efforts aren't all for naught once in a while. Yesterday and today I got to see and hear how others think of me and where I fit in their scheme of things. A precious insight. I'll take it, even with the baggage.

Please let your wife know that if she were to drop the plastic cork from a champagne-type bottle (sparkling cider, etc) into the umbrella stand, stem up, and slip the muzzle of the 870 over it, it will prevent damage to either the stand or the shotgun. I've used these for years after an old friend in the Thurston County Sherriff's Office told me about their many uses-- in an upright barrel they are wonderful for keeping dust out of the tube. Thanks for warming my heart with this story.  I think the lady lawyer should have been fired first -- for fanning the flames by siding against  you.  She was probably the one who wouldn't let it drop when the complaint was filed/investigated.  She was certainly biased -- and she tried to railroad you.  

If the lawyer had been fired for the one-way bullshit in the investigation, it would have been a timely lesson for the liberal co-worker.  She would have been able to adjust her attitude accordingly, and it might have enabled her to come up with an apology.

As it was, she was still under the influence of the lawyer lady at the 'apology' session, and was unable to do other than heap more grief on your head.    I hope she is smart enough to start thinking for herself some day.
