New to XDs, won this at auction
What’s the best flush fitting or flush extended mag? Any reliable stick mags (no proMag) like a 33rnd Glock? Marked as XD-m, Compatible? Any immediate low cost changes most people make? Attached File |

I had that one in .45. Reliable and accurate, but all I ever used were the SA mags and they just worked. Never tried any other mags.

Regarding low cost check out Powder River Precision and look at trigger upgrades or replacement depending on your budget of what is low cost. |

There's a roll pin in the top of the slide that likes to break if you dry fire it a lot. Worthwhile to pick up some spares since they are cheap. Not sure if newer versions fixed that or not. Also just stick to the 16 round factory mags none of the aftermarket ones are very reliable and the XDM mags are not compatible.

There are still some new MecGar 18 round mags out there and i'm kicking myself for not buying more when they were cheap. You'll probably have search a bit, maybe CDNN? They are carbon steel and noticeably heavier. Just a slightly larger baseplate. They do have a couple quirks but 100% reliable. They rattle a slight bit when fully loaded and when new and fully seated they make it a bit difficult to press the mag release until broken in. I ended up polishing the notch in the mag and that helped.
