Can't answer you exactly, but I do have the XD45 Tactical (5" and 13+1) as well as the XD45 Compact (4" and 10+1). Both are absolute favorites. The tactical is great to shoot, but too big to carry. The compact is great to shoot and just the right size for carry. I've always thought the original XD's had outstanding ergos. Haven't been a fan of the XD(m)s. I've heard good things about the mod. 2 and of those I've handled I've liked them.
I think the 4" service mod. 2 would be a fine option. |

I just bought one and am happy with it. It’s not significantly different than my XD Tactical w/ 5” barrel. Takes the same mags, so that’s a bonus.

I have the Mod2 4.0 .45 ACP. I’m very happy with it, it’s reliable, accurate, fun to shoot, etc. I don’t carry it though I’m sure that would be quite doable. It is one of my dedicated home defense guns. Other than Springfield being the importer I see no reason not to get one.

I'm tempted to buy for the price. Grab a gun has them for 369 right now. Seems like a steal!

I have a XD45 with 4" barrel, that shoots well, but I only carry it once in awhile

Mine is just a bit big in the grip for carry. I do like it though, it’s going on my pack belt for woods carry as soon as I get a proper holster.
