I recommend the p365xl, but if you have the chance, palm the pistols you are interested in and see what fits best.

Once my holster arrives from jmck I'll be carrying my P365x full time and tucking away my PPS M2.  The Walther had a good few years, but can't pass up 2x capacity and optic ready slide.

Ruger semi-autos tend to get overlooked but are usually reliable workhorses. I am especially fond of their revolvers.

@laxman09 which Holosun is on your XL? Did it just plug and play or did you need an adapter plate? Also, it has no rear sight, correct?

@iasc300ia I really like your setup. Which light is that? Does it work right out of the box with the SIG slot? Who make IWB/OWB holsters for the XL with that light.

407k x2  Dropped right in no issues, very secure. No adapter plate needed. You do lose the rear sight which is a little annoying, but the 407k has a small notch rear sight built into the housing.

Thanks! I have several Vedder holsters. They are pretty much my go to for IWB. Looks like prices have gone up some.  I think they just had a 20% off sale I think, which probably brings them back to the old price. Nice to know they have one that will fit that gun/light combo.

My vote: 365XL w a dot of your choice.  I have a Swampfox Sentinel Auto-adjust.

I honestly don't really care for the gun.  Ergo's are meh, trigger is meh, doesnt have usable sights with the dot.  But gosh, it sure carries and shoots well.

Op, I carry a G43x with shield arms 15 rounders. I train with the gun and the mags and it is flawless. I’ve heard lots of good about the 365 (and plenty of bad), but I’m already vested in to my 43x, so I’m not going to spend money on a 365.

My 43x is a 1st gen and so are my shield arms mags. Both have been improved upon since I bought mine.

My vote is the P365XL. I really didn't care for the feel of my Son's Springfield Hellcat, but it is tiny and packs a punch. I loved my S&W M&P Shield Plus and thought it the best thing ever till I held the P365XL. I have been with S&W M&P's since I parted ways with steel and aluminum SIG's 11 years ago. So I just gifted my daughter my Shield Plus for Christmas and wanted to get the OR Shield Plus to replace it. Unfortunately for S&W I held the P365XL and now I want to replace all my full size M&P pistols with a fleet of assorted 365's and 365XL's. It is the best gun I have ever felt in my hands.

I love my Holosun HE-508Ts so I don't mind giving another gun a Holosun but the Romeo Zero Pro or Elite might get the nod here.

It's taken S&W a long time to finally put out a decent trigger. It's very nice for an out of the box trigger. It needs to be on all the M&P/Shield models.

I have really large hands.  The hellcat with 15 round mags is absolutely perfect for me.  The p365 just didn’t feel or fit nearly as well in my hands.

Exactly. I wanted to buy the Sig, as I have a P220. I tried both at the store, and left with the Hellcat. They are both great guns.

I have a P365 and the XL, G43X and G48. I’m waiting for my approval on the Hellcat I picked up last week. I was planning on buying the P365X but I really liked the way the Hellcat felt. Once I put it through some testing, it’ll probably be my go to. I’m already planning on a second.

All are good choices though. I also enjoy the Shield Plus.

This is always important. I had a 365XL but, I never really liked the way it fit my hand. I checked out a Shield Plus when the OR 3.1" was available and I liked the grip a lot more. The extra length front to back just fits my hands better.

I am a huge fan of my P-10S, so called subcompact with 12 round mag, shoots like it's a much bigger pistol.

Edit to add, didn't realize this was on the verge of a zombie thread.

Nope, this is a Gen 1. Got one before they were yanked over the lawsuit.

I'd trade it straight up for a new green gen II though. Wink wink.

Hellcat was my choice after trying a Kahr CM9 and PM9, Sig P938, Sig P365, Glock 43, and S&W Shield.

Then I went back to a Glock 26 for magazine compatibility with all of my larger 9mm Glocks.

Hellcat would 100% get my vote for a "one and done" compact carry gun.  I had OSP and standard models.  They shot amazingly well, were 100% reliable, and TINY for the capacity.

ETA: I know its "only a 380" but a Ruger LCP is a go anywhere in any clothing option.  I have been carrying one since they first came out (replaced my KelTec P3AT piece-of-crap .. which the LCP copied and improved ... I was using in that role before the LCP was released).  If loaded with FMJ it has been 100% reliable and has THOUSANDS of carry miles on it (including quite a few marathons).  The finish has proven durable and corrosion resistant.  The magazines have proven reliable and durable.  For a few hundred dollars they're hard to beat for those times when you simply cannot figure out a way to on-body any other handgun.

Shield Plus.  Can hold 13+1, pull pistol then pull trigger (no safety).  Mine is not THAT much bigger than my 380 Bodyguard, which I bought the shield to replace.  IM me if you want pics, I can pull them out and take whatever pics you want (size, etc).

I have the non-pro version and have been happy with it.  I just bought a magguts kit to add an extra round to make the standard 7 round mag 8 rounds.  I'll have to test to see if its reliable.

Hellcat, P365, G43X, Shield Plus - all of those are fine, I really like my Hellcat Pro and carried the G43 and G43X before that. If you are thinking of the 43 with a +2 just go 43X, same size as the 43 with the Vickers extension and two more rounds.

This brand & model doesn't get enough credit. They're the best shooting of the single stack carry 9s. Unfortunately they don't make the new hotness of the expanded capacity carry 9, but if you're good with a single stack they deserve consideration.

Walther PPS... this is the current "M2" model.

We have settled on the P365 series of pistols. With one FCU and multiple grip modules I  can have a 10 round pocket pistol. 12 round sub compact and a really thin and easily concealable 17 round pistol. What's not to like.

I still carry my full size glocks 19, 17, 45, etc. But the Sig modularity is unrivaled right now.

I’m digging my CR920 right now but still throw my 43 and 43x into the rotation.
I’ve been checking out the shield plus lately too but don’t really need it and then I’d also have to buy new holsters.

The Hellcat Pro and the P365X are both good choices, although they're still technically micros. I've never handled a P365 X-Macro, so I can't say anything about it.

I like my M&P Compact 3.6. Very good for CCW and shoots great at the range.

Compact handguns in general aren't really all that "hot" right now. It's the age of the micro.
