Hey guys I have never really been into Berettas but for some reason lately I have wanted to get a Langdon Tactical financially right now that is not possible but one thing I have been thinking is it might be a good idea to stock up on some mags.

So I come to you guys looking for recommendations on which ones to stock up on.
17 vs 18 vs sand resistant etc etc…..

Mecgar or wait for Beretta to run their sale 10% off 100, 20% off 200, 30% off 300, 40% off 400 which should be soon if not right now.

Other then that you can try used checkmates and others on the EE for around 10-12 a magazine

Beretta all day long. I think their sale is going or was last week. Stay away from surplus, I've had bad luck with G.I. Mags

eta- Free shipping on over $75 orders. Best deal is a sand resistant mags $28

FPNI.

MecGar all day long, or Beretta if you can catch them on sale or a good used price.

What’s the deal with the 18rd MecGar mags?  Are the as good as the 17rd Beretta mags?

And also 15rd Sand resistant vs. 17rd factory Beretta mags any clear winners here?

Sorry for all the newb questions but I have never really done my research in this area

No issues with the 18rd MecGars.

My LTT Centurion came with 3 MecGars

I’ve read over and over Mec-Gar and beretta are the top tier mags for the 92 series. Pretty tough to beat. I am curious about the ACT mags that I’ve seen for sale. Options are always a good thing

I bought a bunch of Beretta mags back when I first started messing with the 92 platform. I found the Mecgars were more consistent for speed reloads due to the rounded front corners vs the square shape of the Beretta factory mags. I also like the individual witness holes for each round on the rear of the mag.

I had this dilemma recently . This is the fist time I’ve preferred “aftermarket” ( I know mecgars make some oem) over OEM. I recently had a few barely used beretta oem mags fail to lock the slide back. Never had that issue with the mecgars. I’ve never had the issue with unreliability with the beretta mags , but If I had to pickup I’d go mecgar. Cheaper too

Anyone try the ACT mags that are 17rd. They look nice and can be found for 15ish

So MecGars are good to go great.  Are there any extended mags like the 33rd Glock mags for the 92 platform?

Also wheres a good place to pick up the Mec Gars?

Beretta’s web store is running 40% off $400 right now with code “fall40”.

These are the best mags you can buy, good time to load up on them.

I have a bunch of checkmate mags.

I routinely drop them in sand, water, mud.

I just rinse them out with the hose and they keep on working just fine.

I use 20 round Mecgar magazines in mine.  They work great.

I know I’m looking to buy up some mags for my centurion 92x. I’ve really narrowed it to 3 options.

- beretta 40% coupon and buy a bunch of the 17rd sand resistant mags

- attempting to find mec-gar 18 rd mags in stock for $25 or more right now it seems

- ACT-MAG (armscor) 17 rd mags for $17ish in a few places.

For what I’ve read, it’s pretty tough to go wrong with 92 series mags.

I buy MecGar and Beretta factory mags. Get on the Beretta mailing list for sales and promotions. I will check into ACT-MAG.

Quick question does anybody know if you can get black baseplates individually?  I want to get some of these mags but don’t like the tan colored baseplates.

Or another option is do they make the 17rd mags in black color?

They do make them in black, but I’ve never seen badeplates for sale individually. Dye is an option.

These work great for standard mags, not sure if they would work for extended capacity mags:

My bad, just saw they are out of stock and not backordering.  May be available somewhere else.

I picked up a bunch of new in the package checkmates and some airtronics for like $6. Put wolf 10% springs in them and zero issues . These compliment my factory berettas and mecgars of course.

The only issue I have ever had with Mecgar mags vs. Beretta mags was when I was comparison shooting my cz75 and Beretta 92fs side by side.
I can report that cz75 Mecgar mags will seat in the Beretta 92fs, but will not chamber, and the resulting fiasco required field stripping the pistol to get the mag and the half-chambered round out.
Other than that, Mecgar mags run flawlessly as long as they are in the pistol they are designed for.

I have a pile of Mec-Gar M9 20-rounders, and they look like they'd be flush fit with a regular baseplate.
