So, a friend sold me two Colts (and a Baby Browning) for really cheap prices.  Been wanting a 1903 for years.  It's a little rough on finish, but seems mechanically sound.  Serial number shows 1917 manufacturing.   The other is an very good condition Colt Challenger.  It was made in 1952.

You will find both of those pistols provide superior service.  Do not let anyone fool you about the effectiveness of the .32 ACP.  Put the bullet where it needs to be and the fight is over.

Hell ya dude!! I’m looking for a Colt 1908 built in 1915. I see one now on Gunbroker, but I’m picky and it’s a little to worn out for me. 1915 is the year my grandmother was born so that’s why I want that year!!

Been on the hunt for a 1903 for some time.  They seem to fall into to two groups: beat to hell or really expensive.

I am on the fence about refinishing it (professionally).  I only paid $100 for each of the pistols.

Nice. I have a 1903, mines even rougher cosmetically but works fine. I had a Challenger years ago and shouldn’t have sold it off.

I would strongly consider sending the 1903 to Turnbull restorations and have it refinished, or maybe even color case hardened.  I know color case harden wasn't a factory finish, but it sure would look neat.   I would be surprised if Turnbull would do the work for less than $1000 though...

Fords Refinishing is having a 15% off sale through January 5th. I just sent them a Colt 1903. I really like their Master Blue.

Yeah I burned up all of my luck last year LOL. After her husband passed away I helped her sell a bunch of his guns mostly Fudd stuff, except for a vintage Colt Python that I managed to find a buyer for her that paid a handsome premium for it. She asked me what I wanted in return for helping her and I told her I would like to possibly purchase the 1903. I showed her what it was worth in the Blue Book values as well as what I can find online and she came up with the price of $500. I told her it was worth more than that and she said if you want it you can have it for $500 for helping me so my husband's guns.
